Sam Dean from The Telegraph said the same thing on a podcast, nothing active on Eze. All the clubs mouth pieces saying the same thing at the same time lol. Might not happen.
I'm pretty sure it won't. Our left winger is Madueke. Our attacking midfilder is Nwaneri.

We will see. We start our pre-season tomorrow. Striker still not here, LW still not here, only the DM is covered.

HomeSteak that's disappointing. I'm not sure I see Nwaneri's renewal as sufficient reason not to bring Eze in. Think next season will be more graft than craft if that's the case but hope I'm proven wrong

A whole load of nothing in this news imo, it was always going to be the case that'd we'd have to shift someone if we want Eze to come in. Marti/Tross, Ode/Ethan and Saka/Noni is a full set for the AM positions. We're not going to expand that to 7 players.

eze at LW would be a bit of a cluster. he drifts into the zones that rice has made his own. we also don't do overlapping fullbacks, which narrows things even further if eze drifts inside. it would be serviceable because the players involved are really good, but it wont produce the kind of synergy that could be achieved by bringing in a natural LW. if we fail to do that and resort to sticking madueke out there, we're fucked

Disagree, I think Eze at LW could bang. He and Rice are totally different players, Rice is more of an off the ball runner than a playmaker and if anything he needs someone in his zone to link with and play him in. Eze drifting inside would be so much more effective than Martinelli doing so and we'd probably see Arteta getting Rice and MLS/Cala to offer the overlap more.

Why do you think that? I'm assuming Palace are holding out for Eze's clause and that's why we've briefed a few journos we're interested in Simons.

I don't see we can or should move on anything else until we've locked Gyökeres away. If the unlikely happens and Gyökeres collapses then priority one will be pivoting on a striker ...

RocktheCasbah we need the creativity from the left though. Odegaard (even at top form) and Saka play on the right, MLS and Zubimendi play deep. The left hand channel is still a weak point

RocktheCasbah when you look at the profile of the attackers we're bringing in, it's primarily about physicality and repetition (albeit I'm fully bought into Zubimendi - think he's the best player we're signing this summer). And there's a lot of that already in the way we attack (ie. Havertz and Martinelli to some extent). So from an aesthetic perspective (and also in relation to how we beat the low block), I definitely think we could do with more on-field innovators.

He had a bad season last year, we all know that. But that was partially due to never really recovering from his injury earlier in the season, and then all the injuries we suffered during the year. He started to look better at the tail end of the season, and he's been fantastic for Norway. I wouldn't say he 'lost his'. I would say it was just a down season for him for many reasons.

Pepe LeFrits don't get me wrong, I still want him. tetball needs a player like eze. if its between noni or eze for LW, I'll take eze all day

Pepe LeFrits I still want Eze just cos he's great but I think Gaz is right. Eze is much better through the centre and I think he'd be best as a rotation option with Ode and Dec. We already lack width on the left due to the way our full backs play so having Eze there would cause us to get extremely narrow on that side. That makes low blocks even easier for opposition. He's also just not nearly as good on the wing as he is through the centre.

Also hand is saying more or less the same as others

Qwiss pathetic stuff. the eze deal was meant to be unrelated to madueke, now we hear noises that a deal for eze is dependent on player sales. the people that keep saying we can blow money with impunity without it impacting other transfer business need to give their head a wobble

Gazza M Just because people are being told that doesn't always make it true. If Arsenal are briefing that we gonna sign him no matter what Palace will hold firm on their price. The fact he is telling other clubs he wants Arsenal shows he has been told to be patient.

Gazza M what the HOA says is that it was related more to Nwaneri's signing but that Arteta is pushing for it despite us signing on Ethan.

He speculates about Trossard's sale opening the door. He doesn't know this. Either way, it's still billionaire money. Who cares? City has just spent 300m this year without our level of sporting success in the period. And we are hearing they're to be docked a massive 3 points for their spending and underhanded tactics in the past 5 - 8 years.

FFP adherence is for suckers who can't hire good lawyers or grease the right wheels in the FA is what it looks like to me.

Burnwinter because everyone says we agreed personal details with Eze weeks ago but haven't moved beyond that. I don't we are waiting for Gyokeres to be finished. We worked on Madueke and Mosquera while we worked on Gyok. Unless Trossard moves I don't think we'll see another attacker come in.

Sounds like we will sign Eze (or someone for the left 8 spot). I'm not sure who i'd prefer to sell between Trossard and Martinelli. If I had to pick one, I'd say Martinelli just cos he likely holds more value, and we already brought in Maddy who offers the same profile plus more.
