Seems to me Varandas, Gyökeres and Gyökeres' agent have all been in there fucking round as advertised, but Arsenal hasn't been going too badly on this one.
At the very least we've got Gyökeres so convinced he's gone on strike and risked a financial hit to join us. To me, there's a certain deliciousness to that.
If Arsenal is not feeling the pressure to cough up this last £5m, it's probably because the real pressure will soon be on Varandas to pass it up. He's not getting his man back, so his fans won't be impressed if he doesn't get his fee and pour it back into his squad.
Meanwhile I don't like the way Gyökeres is being reported. He sounds unhinged, like he's probably using up a season's worth of dopamine writing abusive text messages. If this deal goes through I'd tell him to firstly shoot his agent into the sun, then take a few days off to meditate.
