JazzG That for me is a bigger signing than a CF, our game has become so robotic and methodical, Saka is double/triple marked out of games and how entire attacking game gets nerfed and we have no real other spark and explosiveness in our side.
My take on this is that BECAUSE we do not have a real threat at CF, that's the reason Saka is double/triple marked out of games. Yes, it would exceptional if we had the same kind of threat from the left side (and TBF, we look like we want to add something else there too), but having a CF that is determined to score would quite frankly release some of the pressure on Saka. Havertz certainly has his uses, and he's good at them, but the direct runs and attacking the defenders is what Gyokeres will bring and that will push defenders back and then open up more space for Saka (or our LW). Saka has been the main attacking threat, and has been effective even with being lumped all game long. Imagine how effective he could be if he actually had a little space? A more dangerous LW would just open things up even more.
