USArsenal Thing with most CFs is they have two CBs around them, so I don't think teams will need to change their shape that much even if the CF is a live wire. Teams sit deep so the CF usually won't have that much space to work either. If you can cut off the supply doesn't matter how good the CF is. Saka does most of the lifting when it comes to creativity and we need another so he can't be targetted.

JazzG Agreed but there were also so many times this past year where we had a noticeable gap between the wings on quicker attacks, especially once Kai got hurt. Cleary it was due to the false 9 with Merino/Trossard playing there and dropping deep but I believe that having a traditional 9 that is going to find himself in the box the majority of the time in those scenarios will help both wingers find more space.

Nwaneri and Martinelli can play on the right as Saka cover. Eze can play on the left as Martinelli cover, or centrally instead of Odegaard or Rice. I honestly don't see enough minutes for Madueke unless it means no Eze.

With Madueke I feel like we're forcing a player into the team, even if via rotation, with minimal upside. Maybe he accepts a back up role and will come on in the 70th minute to dust tired legs? but isn't that also when we want Saka on to finish games off?

Arteta/Berta/Whoever is behind this Madueke deal had their fun, submitted a bid, succeeded in uniting the whole Arsenal fanbase against this deal, and should now walk away from it. Going back with a 2nd bid would be crazy.

This is an insane bid. How can they possibly think this is a good idea? We are haggling like carnies for everyone else but go straight in with £50m for Madueke who has done nothing to warrant it and we are negotiating with Chelsea who are desperate. This makes no sense at all.

I think we need to get over the fact that the club and management don't see Chelsea as rivals like fans do. But this is more than that, he has by all accounts failed to live up to the hype and has been criticised by two managers for his poor ethic. And we've lodged a bid which is almost double what Chelsea paid for him. Like wtf man.
