JazzG really excited by this guy. Also important when scouting players is to consider their environment. Both Zubi and Williams really come to life at national team because they have much better colleagues. I’d expect both to be very involved at productive here.

Same goes for Sesko by the way. That’s clearly an underused striker with amongst the best shooting techniques with either foot.

GooneriC Really? From what I can gather he was pretty good yesterday and up against a very strong midfield.

I get he isn’t Rodri level but then again who else is? The fact he can walk into the Spain team and their level doesn’t drop speaks volumes. I think when he joins people will see he’s not just a defensive No.6 who can pass well, he can carry the ball forward as well. I’m really looking forward to see him with Rice.

Zubimendi is a super solid signing. People are way overrating what level players need to be to win silverware. It doesn't need to be a galactico squad.

Watch this video of Zubi last night. The thing that stands out for me is how two footed he is. He can receive and pass with both feet. It helps with how quickly he can move the ball on. There is an attack where he is driving towards the penalty area and sees a man to his right. Normally a primarily right-footed player would need to slow down to pass to his right, but he just calmly hits it with the inside of his left while in stride. Lots of little moments like this

Useful video, in that context he was driving on the ball quite a bit. I think he'll look great in an Arsenal shirt and be more of an upgrade than people expect. I expect him to release Ødegaard to more advanced duty when we're trying to beat the press.

agree with those saying he's comfortable driving with the ball. what I'd like to see is zunimendi being given license to drive from deep positions if the opportunity arises, and rice tucking into a safety position to cover him if it breaks down. they could be quite a dynamic tandem if they can get a petit-vieira type of instinctual understanding between them

Yeah, but some of his ground passes too. Sometimes overhit and the receiver has to make wild body adjustments to receive it.

I'm concerned with this, as I've felt all along if the guy wanted to be in England he'd be here already. He's flirted and dragged his heels for years.

He's waiting for something, if I had to guess that thing is Real. But this could just be agents leaking real interest to get him bigger wages.
