One thing is clear, this Zubimendi fella is not the sort of guy we should be pinning our hopes on. Liverpool were convinced he was going to sign for them only for him to change his mind later. De Jong could still leave Barca this summer and I hope we are closely following his contract talks.
Imagine losing both Jorginho and Partey and not finding any suitable replacement for them.....
Get what’s his name from Villa

I take it you mean Kamara, yeah I'd bring him in. Only doubt I have about him is all the top clubs are aware of him but none has attempted to sign. There's probably something he lacks to play at the top level that only a scout can spot. To me he looks very good, he's a technician that passes the ball very well and he's quite smart without the ball.
Tactics find it hard to believe the assertion that there are certain attributes of players that "only a scout can spot". They have two eyes and a brain, and bias. Same as you and I. Only thing they possibly do more is watch specific players in person. But with today's every touch / action compilations and with the amount of data available about most players, they are unlikely to gain a lot more insight than the dedicated fan.
Anyone else got a funny feeling that the Zubimendi 'deal' (if there ever was one) is about to fall through? 😃
SimplyThePest it would be so us if it was to happen

This window will tell us more about our owner's ambition than any other. Shit is going to be laid bare.

nobody should get carried away by all the transfer gossip. Even with Zubamendi seemingly done but not done. When it's done for sure we'll all know anyway.
Kike is Tier 1 for Real Sociedad, says it’s done but he can’t confirm or deny anything due to timings.
JazzG kike bomb circa 2014
I'm not too worried, if we don't get him, we will get someone else. I mean, if Real goes in, it's over, but that is normal, nobody picks Arsenal over Real. Hell, 99% of players pick Real over everyone
Gazza M this is what I meant. Players like Vitinha do that kind of thing on a regular basis, freeze opposition with feints and quick feet and dance past them. Partey used to be able to do the drop of shoulder thing, but his feet are made of lead these days and can barely get away from one, talk less of multiple defenders, and Zubimendi is just not that sort of player from what I've seen of him. He can do it to a limited extent, is isn't really a ball carrier like the others, in my opinion.
flobaba vitinha is almost iniesta level when it comes to quick feet, zubimendi isn't doing all that. i was referring specifically to the previous clip. driving with the ball from the 6 position to the 10 position as a general principle isn't something we see often from our pivot mids, but it is something zubimendi is capable of doing
Who's this Ray Hudson wannabe?
Vitinha stands over the ball so well. Being on top of the ball means that he’s very able to evade players if they attempt to reach in and win the ball off him
These deals that are done for ages always have drama made up to keep them topical. Days before the TAA deal was officially announced loads of Liverpool itks etc were saying he was going to stay
Watched the recent press conference Arteta gave. We will definitely add 4/5 new players
lorddulaarsenal you should also watch what he said in Jan and his post match interview on the last game of 2023-2024 season at home to Everton. You can’t bullshit a bullshitter.
He talks a very good game no doubt but proof is in the pudding.
For context, no matter what he says the facts are we haven’t signed a forward signing since Jesus in June 2022.

No doubt, given the amount of players departing.
Only question is whether the quality of those signings will be enough to actually improve the squad and will the signings be there in time for everyone to get a proper pre-season together. We really can't afford a slow start if we want to win the League.
