lorddulaarsenal I watched the Statman Dave feature on "why Arsenal want Zubimendi" the other day.
So this fella's a trained and comfortable 6 in his prime.
There's ample evidence he can pick a pass. This includes lofting it out to either wing from either foot.
Zubimendi is also described as an "elite dueller". I think he is likely to be as good or better than the declining version of Partey defensively, particularly once you factor in Partey's persistent losses of focus under pressure. And he is allegedly calm and press resistant.
Finally, injury history.
Zubimendi's had 10 matches missed due to injury and 221 appearances since 2020.
Partey's had 81 matches missed and 165 appearances in the same period.
Comparing 6s, you get almost 50% more miles for your buck with Zubi. And this position has enormous tactical importance for us.
Based on all this I think this guy's actually going to be a big step up.
