Well, if we raise our ceiling, our floor most likely goes up as well. If we add a proper striker to Havertz and Merino, the latter two will still be there to step in when needed. If we add another good wide attacker, Saka, Martinelli and Trossard will still be there to do their thing.
The only exception would be like-for-like straight swaps. Should we just add Zubimendi while losing both Partey and Jorginho might potentially raise our ceiling in that position, but our depth would still be neglected. That would not, in my opinion, improve the squad. At least not to the level we need.
