Superb from Jesus, very pleased for him.

Odegaard can disappoint when we need him most in the PL but tonight he was great.

It's really concerning how bereft of vision/creativity we are without him.

Don Pacifico Jesus has never been a consistent goalscorer. I hope he gets a boost but he still isn't good enough for what we need. It's about consistent performance of this type.

Jesus finishing like Ronaldo out there today! First goal in particular was superb, when he first joined us he had the confidence to try things like that. The others were also clinical finishes. No hesitation and bang in the bottom corner, hopefully this is a sign of things to come!

Hoping after that hat trick his confidence will be up, there is definitely a player in there but you’d hope the injuries haven’t finished him off. His confidence was clearly on the floor and sometimes one game can turn a players career around.

I think that puts him equal third on the scoring charts this season across all competitions so far behind Saka and Haverts. Equal with Nwaneri...

Qwiss it's not knee jerk from me, I was saying we should try it before this game. havertz isn't providing anything useful currently, and is actually exacerbating our creative issues with how little he's offering on the ball. we need to dig into the trick bag to turn things around because what we're doing isn't working

Gazza M how long does "currently" stretch back? 12 combined G+A so far this season. And it's not really fallen away recently either, 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 5.

it's about synergy as well, not just his individual contribution. having a more dynamic player in the middle will create more vectors for other players. havertz is flitting around and poaching and stat padding, while the rest of the attack struggles. I feel like we should try something different, that's all. we have to find a purple patch from one of our forwards. it feels like guys like tross and kai have done their dash on that front, at least for now. jesus' hatty is the sign I was looking for

lorddulaarsenal To me the biggest problem remains the left side of the attack.

Merino feels a bit meh right now. Those analysts saying he was bought as a backup are probably right. But then we need to find someone in for Partey desparately.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert Odegaard can disappoint when we need him most in the PL but tonight he was great.

It's really concerning how bereft of vision/creativity we are without him.

It's not just that. It's the drive and mentality. Saka has it for himself but Martin brings the whole team up. When he's out or not performing the whole team suffers.

banduan thought he looked good again. He’s giving us a lot of intelligent movement, passing, and runs into the box.

Second half we played quick forward passes and were determined to attack. That's why we won the game. Not sure why we don't play like that every week. Yes Odegaard came on but mainly it was a change in mentality that changed the game.

Gurgen I think palace weren’t as packed. But there is also some benefit from Tierney in that he was going wide and pushing our forward in, allowing Trossard to link up with Merino and Jesus.
There is probably value to playing like we did before with an asymmetric full backs. When both fullbacks are going inside, it makes us narrow and isolates both wingers, making us easier to hold.

Claudius also stops the left winger from having to do that work.

Claudius finally you see it. There's value for Tierney or a traditional full back equivalent in our game. We need to vary it up. We need width. No better than an overlapping full back supporting our cut in wingers.

Tierney was way too maligned and disrespected.

Tierney was/is barely a footballer. It isn't relevant how good he is when fit, because he never is.
