Since they have become a significant part of our game/ tactics why not have a dedicated thread?

Good analysis of how we execute:

It will take most teams a season or more to try to copy this offensively. Here’s why

  • we have the ability to dominate possession in a way that only 4 or 5 other teams can: City, Brighton, Spurs, Pool, Chelsea
  • our whole team is huge, so it’s hard to track all the brutes in the box. Most teams have only 2 or 3 realistic targets, like Pool’s centre backs.
  • Saka and Rice are superb. They’re hitting inswingers accurately and with tons of pace.

So you not only need a set piece coach, you need to solve all this other stuff

Also need to be big and good in the air having such determination to win the ball.

Clrnc weird list there, mate. Don’t see Stoke and Bolton.

I know you're trying to be sarky to opposition fans but this stat is for top 5 major leagues tbf

Clrnc Hahaa. I know. All the stat shows is football has changed a lot since the days of Bolton. All those teams in that list are ball dominant. They camp out in the opponents half and end up getting more set pieces than ever before.
And the smart managers are making the most of every moment. The other thing less talked about is how long it takes all of these teams to do throw ins, because they recognize that throw ins are a high-risk moment where they could lose possession given they are a man down.
