Gazza M Arteta: Oh yes you can!
Fulham v Arsenal Sunday Dec 8th 14 KO
We're creating nothing
They got their goal and can snuff out the middle like other teams do. The horse shoe is out today
We are suffering with no left back. I'd get Tierney on
The worst thing about this is I don't see much in the way of options on the bench to change things up. Maybe swap MLS in for Jorginho and push Partey into midfield?
Goodness. I didn’t even realise that ESR was playing
Don Pacifico Martinelli and Nwaneri are on the bench. Big time game changers.
This i match shows the kind of limitation for Arteta's management, his way of playing and squad building. His set up too restricted and I don't think good enough to win titles with due to it being so limited to everything being perfect and when it doesn't quite click it's very hard to get the outcomes we need
awooga83 I like what Havertz does but we need at least one more star forward with "main character energy" to get the most out of Havertz.
But then that's why second rank on the summer wishlist was a left winger with pace to burn who was world class one-on-one and could strike it (first was Zubimendi).
Qwiss can't see Martinelli doing much against this backline but forgot about Nwaneri.
Ugh. Frustrating stuff. Can't believe we somehow conceded.
Depressing match so far. If control ball and set pieces don't work, Arteta and his players look lost. No counter-attacking threat and zero pace from left the flank.
Time for Arteta to earn his bread. We don’t win this and any title ambitions we have is over.
Partey, Jorginho and Timber are all playing poorly. Surely it'd be worth switching Partey and Timber to their main positions and bringing on Lewis-Skelly at LB here.
We have zero threat on the left , they're overloading our right side to nullify Saka and Odegaard . Trossard doesn't have the pace or physicality and Timbers left peg is useless. We need to threaten from the space they give on that side while trying to mark Saka. A left footed LB helps. Take Partey off , push Timber to RB and Tierney or MLS to LB and we will give them problems.
Burnwinter I agree he's accomplished for what he can do and it's a great player in the squad but he has severe limitations. So often if we transition the ball gets up to him but he has no pace or technical quality to push the attack forwards so always has to turn back and wait for the rest of the team to catch up which kills the threat on this moments so often.
We just don't have any quality in attack. Saka aside, our ST and LW options are top 6 quality at best and not good enough for a title charge. We desperately need more quality at either LW or ST if we want to do anything next season.
These next 45 minutes are basically our last day of the season, and we have to win to win the league. That’s the team talk, that’s the approach we have to see.
