    Claudius yea they simply forced the clubs and players hands. You take a risk doing that but it's not like we haven't done in other instances ourselves, every transfer is a risk and we've done some exceptionally risky ones like Havertz or Calafiori in recent windows.

        shocking lol. Atletico made a huge mistake when they signed him, then a bunch of other clubs just doubled down on that mistake...the guy is shit, nothing will change that.

          jones you need to lean in. If you want to finish 5th, you don't take risks. you do the ordinary. i think Calafiori can go both ways. On the one hand, he might end up an injury issue like Jesus or Tomi. Both of these are fantastic players - but what good are you if you don't show up. On the other hand, his ability to drive at teams, his confidence in the final third could turn him into a star. If he's healthy, I expect him to play a prominent role in the Champs League knockouts

            HomeSteak the way Villa is moving makes me think the striker transfer is still open to us. The only possily available striker who will be better than Watkins over the next 18 months is Isak. If we have 80% confidence we are getting Isak, we should stay away from Watkins. If we don't have certainty over an Isak move, we must take Watkins now.
            IF Watkins is actually available to us, not taking Watkins now so we can wait 6 months for a kid like Sesko still leaves us short another top forward who can contribute big numbers immediately. Because I would be surprised if Sesko unseated Harvertz immediately

              tel on loan with an option would be decent business. don't really want us dropping 60m on him

              edit - forgot we cant actually take on any more loans. we must be exploring a permanent transfer

                Gazza M we can't take any more PL players on loan. Can take players from other leagues.

                  Qwiss getting both is a pipe dream. Tel wouldn’t join if we signed Watkins anyway as it would seriously affect his mins.

                  It’s one or the other. I don’t care who, just close one of them.
