Nwaneri has his entire career ahead of him. There really shouldn't be any urgency to start him at this age.

I'm really pessimistic about today. This season has already been way too emotional, from the red cards and the last minute draw to City, to the injuries that are beginning to plague us. Have a feeling Liverpool are going to put a nail in our coffin.

Except, that's just not how it works. Those 3 starts, very quickly turn into 50 starts and a stress fracture, especially if he's really special like he looks.

Foden is a good blueprint of how to introduce a player into the team. It was slow and steady ramping up.

I feel similar in the sense of they are in a bit of an up and we are not quite at that given the matches so far. I have the sense that this looks a little like one of those seasons that go off the rails, we've done really well the last 2 with pretty good luck with injuries and that looks to be different this season.

We need Trossard playing off Havertz if we're to have any attacking impetus from midfield with Odegaard out. Especially with Partey dropping to RB and Merino/Rice in the 6/8 roles.

Persinally, assuming Timber and Saka are actually fit, I'd have gone with

With either Sterling/Nwaneri coming off the bench if we need a goal and Lewis Skelly coming on as part of a back 5 if we are going all out defence.

Not liking this line up. Midfield looks terrible. Would've prefered to start Kiwior or MLS rather than Merino. Balance is all wrong with Partey at rb.

This is a game where we need someone to step up Rice in particular, he's been too quiet with Ode out. We need a big game from him.
