I’ve missed Bolton. They used to be a real pain in the butt. But you looked forward to beating them and annoying their walrus of a manager. Now they’re 18th or 24 teams in League 1. So quite mediocre. We can afford to take one or two risks with a good bench.

Would’ve started Butler Odeyeji and Salah but they played tonight. Probably can start on bench.
And then put , Gabriel,Saliba, Havertz, Maldini, etc on the bench as needed. Martinelli, Partey, Timber can stay home.
Could be a bit disjointed, but we can sub a bunch of guys at half time if needed.

Here is what I wrote in the other thread - happy for the mods to close my one.

We have a game coming up to take our minds off the annoying stuff. I'm quite looking forward to this. Bolton are 18th in League One so we should be able to rotate heavily.

I think Trossard is out, but the likes of Gabby J, Sterling, Nwanieri, Lewis-Skelley, Jorginho and possibly Heaven could all start.

Goalkeeper looks interesting too - some outlets are suggesting Raya picked up a small knock and may be rested, but Neto is cup tied and Setford apparently isn't fully fit either.

Playing a 16 year old in goal though seems unlikely so Raya will probably start, and hope not to do much. If he is at all unfit though I wouldn't want to risk him, even though it would be nice to win this, or any, competition.

But I hope this changes now, at least vs lower league opp.

Shame about the injured players, would have allowed us to rotate more...maybe Zinchenko will be back? If so we can rest Gabriel as well, and just play Califiori as a CB.
Rice has a good engine and needs to get into some form, so I would play him, no way Partey can play this much without getting injured. Good game to start Sterling. Martinelli needs a goal so I would play him here.
Timber and White need to sit this one out, but who do we play there?

Whenever we played a much weaker team in the League Cup he got rested. The thing is we kept getting draws like Leicester, Pool, Brighton, West Ham...

Martinelli died on the field on Sunday.
When we lost Trossard, Saka is the first man who was taken off because he is our weakest frontline defender. Arteta knew that our forwards would have to suffer and Saka would be a weak link. He started these last 3 away games and was one of our most active players throughout.
So I think Saka comes back. Martinelli sits.

Claudius Think that's right, and Marti is also the bigger threat on the counter. You could see a couple of times Rice got the ball back and was trying to release him, but in fairness Walker, he was on it most of the times

We've got too many squad players injured and our first teamers haven't had enough time to recover since Sun.

I'm in favour of the Sterling, Jesus, Martinelli/Saka front three - our best bet is to shock and awe Bolton in the first half so we can take it easy in the 2nd and bring through some kids.

Arteta said we came out of the City game with one of our players having "a big injury". I assume Califiori did his hamstring. I hope it's not Raya...but people on twitter are saying Raya is also out for this one
