Did Silva nudge the keeper a couple seconds before the header? Yeah, a little bit.. But the ball literally went over his hands, it was headed right at him, and it just went by him too fast to react.

We're clutching at straws on this one. Regardless if we had one rules out for White, I would see that as a legit goal all day long. Silva was a yard to the right of the keeper when the ball was headed. Could not see any way VAR did not rule that as a goal.

Don't tell me crap like it evens out because evidence shows that it doesn't. It even widen the margin

Clrnc I feel your frustration, but there's no way that goal today should have been ruled out. As annoying as it is, the wrong done to us against Leicester - what was it, four years ago now? - doesn't mean it wasn't a goal today.

And also, even if you're right about this - and let's just say you have a point, what are you going to do about it? What can we do about it? Until the PGMOL decides to cast its net beyond the north west of England for its referees, things are unlikely to change.

I said nothing about anything evening out. Fact is, it was a legit goal. Lets move on and try to control what we can control.. Winning our own games and not shooting ourselves in the foot multiple times by silly decisions that we make on the pitch. Saliba's decision was silly, and so was Trossard's.

It's an interesting one. As I understand it the league could apply an almost arbitrary penalty to City, this means this is the one season "the fix could be in," so to speak.

I do half wonder if the extraordinary rate we're getting fucked with so far this season is related to this. And then there's apparently going to be club financial penalties linked to cards as well?

I will never agree we should give up on any season at this early stage, but it's been an incredibly uneven and frequently disgusting spectacle for us as fans so far.

RocktheCasbah totally this, there is too much of the look at this decision x amount of time ago.Of course there are going to be inconsistent decisions for almost every event that can't be the basis for all refereeing to flip the decision. Also the biggest issue is I'm sure you could do the same for decisions we have had go our way to suggest some other time they shouldn't have but obviously as fans we never call those out or hold them up to say how we were fortunate. You always remember the things that went against your and that shapes the point of reference for it's always bad against us never for us etc

We've been pushing this strategy our selves at set pieces, yes we've had decisions go against us but also quite a few go for us or not get called. I don't believe there is any referee led move against us. Refs are human and really not very good on the whole so they make inconsistent decisions. We need to minimise and mitigate the impact they have on our own match by trying not to have small margin victories and minimise the chance they can make a poor call against us.

I’ve made peace with it so now I can watch all our game less stressed and less worried about how city are going to (not) drop points every week.

Interesting. Tosin just yellow carded in an almost exact situation as us.

Commentator says Michael Oliver looked at the situation and even though it's last man, the attacker is too far away from the goal to deem it a clear goalscoring opportunity. Referee also had a clear view of the situation and issued a yellow card so it cannot be a clear and obvious mistake to be reviewed.

Very interesting.

Very similar, but not exactly the same because there was another player within 3 feet of them who was already running back.. That's the only reason it was not turned into a red by VAR.
