Gurgen that's it for me. As much as I like MLS, I think Cala takes the LB if he could stay fit for an extended period.

Don Pacifico Cala will get majority of his minutes (when fit) against teams that play/attack as infrequently as AB did yesterday. MLS defends better, and Arteta is a safety first type coach (I've probably said this a trillion times). So in games against trickier forward players and pacier wingers, Myles ftw.

Just play him once a week in key games and let MLS take the rest. If we can get 30 league games from Calafiori at his best then we'll be in a great place

Mirth exactly. Same deal at right back. I want heavy, heavy rotation of the fullbacks this year. They just need to stay fit first.

Qwiss yep, in addition to Calafiori being injury prone, we expect a lot from our fullbacks. It’s no surprised that 3 out of our 4 options have carried some kind of knock.

he was a victim of a stop start season so we only saw glimpses of what he was capable of. if he can get a run of 10+ games staying healthy he's going to be great

Against more tricky and quick wingers he can look vulnerable but no doubt going forward he has the potential to be a force. So elegant and smart with the ball.

He's an awesome player.

But, I can't shake the feeling that there is something humorous about him - like the whole package. His position, his borderline self-inflicted injuries, his looks, his ability, his play style...it all feels like some kind of punny joke that I don't quite understand.

If he stays fit, I see him and Eze creating something special down the left side. With Rice holding things down and giving these two the freedom to tear it up.

Big if, but I agree. Could be the start of something special attack wise. I do think Cala is still a bit of a defensive liability, and Eze isn't exactly strong defensive cover on the wing so huge watch out there.

It's interesting how much Arteta has doubled down on this libero LB role. Even Myles is taking up the same positions at CM hovering around the centre circle.

Again, it's a shame we can't have both on the pitch at the same time, such a joy watching them both.

How can a LB bring so much chaos to a game of football. Love it. If he stays fit he has cult hero written all over him. This is the kind of guy that will score last min winners at Anfield/Stamford Bridge.
