Legally workers in the United States get 2 weeks, in Australia 4 weeks, in the UK 28 days. I'm always shocked by how little leave professionals get in the States. For instance a good mate is a senior psychologist at a clinic as well as being a single mum in Queens: she gets less of a break than anyone I've heard of in Australia. She's far from poor but considers it a huge luxury if she gets to go upstate for three or four days. Brutal stuff.
I'm an independent though, I work too bloody hard lately. I've effectively been working six day weeks a lot of this year, but I also take lots of leave. Often over 2 months in a year, this year it'll be about 7 weeks I think. Got a straight month off in Italy and Germany upcoming.
