Burnwinter This season he was injured for 46 days. Missed 10 potential games in that time.
He started 0 games in 2022/2023 and started 3 this year(was MOTM in 2 of them, was in the squad for 31 one of them). 31 out of 38 is not bad, he probably was not 100% for all of them to be fair, but it is not as dramatic as it was before. 25 mil? For a guy that has proven he can score 10+ goals in this league? For 15 we would be better off keeping him.
But he is done here, Arteta prefers Vieira over him, and that says it all, as Vieira is not good enough for this league.(or most top leagues )

HomeSteak His body's barely been tested since the groin op that was supposed to fix everything. He'll be a great gamble for any club, tremendous upside (bare minimum of 100–200%) on a fee of £15–25m if he just stays fit and does what he used to do.

And yet ... I still wouldn't take him over Trossard in next season's squad. So it seems to me we've gotta be realistic and let him go for his own good.

I agree with your general sentiment, but not sure this is true given that ESR started ahead of Vieira in 2024.

goon well not by much...they both played very little this season, but VIeira was injured more, was involved in less match day squads but got more minutes then ESR. But again, very low numbers, Vieira got like 100 minutes more, 560 vs ESR who only got 474.

Reckon it's more the case to sell than the case to keep, with ESR ahead of Vieira on the exit list because he's homegrown. Both should be asking for a move or at least a loan.

Burnwinter I think this probably also applies to Eddie. I would love to get 30m for him, but I agree with Arseblog that he's probably in the 15-20m bracket realistically.

If we got 60m for Aaron, Emile and Eddie I think we'd be doing well.

but when both got fit, Mikel would use ESR more often than Vieira.

ESR became his "we need a goal" option while Vieira was just "we need to give Ode a rest" option, which ESR could fulfill as well. I believe if we were trailing more games ESR would've seen more minutes.

seen this doing the rounds on twitter, but that anelka sum looks wrong. sure it was low 20s for him

either way, a sale from 1999 even being in the top 10 is nasty work

Gazza M but that anelka sum looks wrong. sure it was low 20s for him

Yeah, remember it being around 23m or so. At least that was what was being reported back then.

Gazza M this is Wenger’s doing. Lifecycle management was a disaster. He didn’t build up enough resources to allow himself the flexibility to sell mid-tier players often. And then he just let tons of players run down contracts, or force exits. And then the cherry on top was the end when he was signing an extraordinary number of old men

HomeSteak Arteta prefers Vieira over him, and that says it all

Does he? Lately when we needed something it was ESR who came on rather than Vieira. I think Vieira is on very thin ice with Arteta, could go this summer and if he doesn't will probably play even less next year. At this stage I'd be all on for Nwaneiri taking Vieiras minutes. There is no future here for the Portugeezer

Qwiss rumours were Arteta is unimpressed with him in training. I imagine Arteta is tyrannical. If he sees you eating an extra chicken wing in the canteen, you’re marked for death.

Claudius which one are we talking about? Arteta talked a lot about ESRs change in attitude. And as I stated ESR is the one who got minutes late in the season over Vieira, even if they were limited. I get the feeling ESR has had enough of being a bench warmer. All the reports say Arsenal wont stand in his way if he wants to go, rather than they are looking to sell. It was even reported differently to the Jesus stuff that was Arsenal are open to offers.

As for Vieira I think if he wants to stay and not get boxed out he'd need to turn up to pre-season training in absolutely battle mode, ready to prove himself once and for all. Personally I don't see it though. Think with signings and the emergence of Nwaneiri imminant that Fabio is pretty much done here for intents and purposes.

Arteta talks about both of them in very positive terms. I just don't think he trusts them enough to play them, or trusts the other starters enough to be able to 'carry' them.

Qwiss sorry. Was referring to Vieira. Gunnerblog mentioned this a few weeks back. Of course with a lot of things, we can only go by what we see on matches. We have no clue what’s happening the other 5 days

Claudius that makes sense. You can tell who he favours at any given moment based on who he gives the minutes to. We should never have signed Vieira anyway, all it did was split minutes between the 2 so neither got enough to push on. May as well let both go at this stage if Arteta isn't going to use them and give all their minutes to one new signing or Nwaneri.

Just an awful awful player, hope he leaves.

Remember how much we loved him 2 season ago?

This is gonna be a summer of lots of noise, I feel, especially with the Euros about to start.
