mdgoonah41 I think KDB/Rodri bail them out far more than Haaland does personally. I agree that a top class 9 would take us to the next level but at this point, there are only a couple in the world that could realistically do that for us. Isak is one of them but it doesn't look like he's going to be available. And I do think Sesko has the potential to be one, which was why we were in so hard for him before he chose to stay. I also think that interest is still there and will be there next summer too. It wouldn't surprise me if we are choosing to wait until next summer to make our big ticket striker signing as opposed to settling this summer for another option (Gyokeres, Osimhen, etc) and then not having the flexibility to go after one of our A list options next summer.
I still believe in Martinelli but I also think we need legitimate competition to bring the best out of him and raise our collective level. Trossard is a great squad player but I'd like us to add either a field stretcher like Neto, Adeyimi or Bakayoko or a player with great 1v1 ability like Eze, Doue or Mitoma. We can't run Saka into the red again this season (not saying he needs too much more rest but he was knackered in the run in) and we need to have other options in case of injury or poor form from Martinelli/Trossard, etc.
