CPM But it doesn't look like there are any obvious and easy solutions in the market right now, so maybe we'll have to be resourceful. Still, I don't like the idea of buying a very similar (and not necessarily outstanding) player for £50m and putting him on big wages.
RST helps break this down for me. We've already got the "Trossards", that's Jorginho and Partey. Hard to add another part-time veteran to that pair and improve anything. We have Lokonga waiting round too.
These three options increase the chance of us not solving the underlying problem, which would be an error because the position in question is in the spine of the team (an oft-forgot nuance of the RST method as originally published is that you don't rely on "Trossards" for the spine).
Guimarães would be a "Rice" but is either priced out completely, or heavily dependent on other business. I dislike him but I can see the logic. Zubimendi is definitely not moving.
I don't know who the "Salibas" are. Adam Wharton is possibly one but either won't move, or would cost £50m. He is rated by players in our squad. No doubt there are other top rated 18–19 year olds. But if Wharton comes, he likely doesn't start and we'd have to accept that.
