Interesting reports that Arteta wants the players to have a more determined attitude. Apparently showed pictures to them of their reactions to missed chances pre Christmas and asked them to change.

Getting this summer right is going to be so difficult when you consider that the players we're looking to improve on in the first XI are Martinelli/Havertz and Partey.

Depth is a little easier to nail and there is also more room for failure but we have to get the new starting forward and midfielder absolutely right and that's not going to be easy to do.

samthegooner JazzG For 60m, I wouldn't mind him either but it does sound like Arteta and Edu have concerns around his availability, as they should. I worry about repeated muscular issues given the intensity at which he plays.

I don't think his injuries are the same which is promising but a player getting injured so frequently is worrying. Despite his injuries though he still looks a beast.

Clrnc He was monstrous in midfield yesterday. Stopped our momentum so many times. And very decent in possession. Not a bad fallback option from Bruno

Think he'd be a great addition to the squad, depends on what Everton would want though. Ideally I think we need 2 midfielders in this window, one in the FDJ mould and the other a more defensive player like him. Lets us rotate more easily as Rice had to play a lot of games this season.

Doue looks like Sancho at times. Henry is coaching him for the French Olympic team, tell him to help us out if this kid is the real deal!

lorddulaarsenal I started falling in love with Doue watching some highlights of him last week and posted about him in one of the Transfer threads - I think it was the wishlist. He's super raw but we don't have anyone like him that can beat defenders 1v1 at will and I also like that he's already producing some end product as an 18 year old. He'd be a perfect Nelson replacement but I doubt we go in for him this summer.

If for whatever reason FDJ is not possible Neves is a very interesting option imo. This guy looks absolute class but he is young and may need time to really get going but looks an incredible prospect.

JazzG I really hope this is true. He looks like he is going to be the next great midfielder. I have a few concerns about his size but he's still very robust in the tackle and looks like he is cut from that Gavi-type competitiveness. I'm sure he would cost close to what Enzo did for Chelsea but our midfield could be sorted for years if he makes good on his potential. Adding him and a market opportunity signing of Fofana as a replacement for TP5 would be another interesting option if we didn't splash the cash for Guimaraes (although I think Neves would cost more than Bruno). Thus far I have been very excited about the players we are being linked with.

Another thing I like about him is he plays with character and looks a leader on the pitch, not someone who hides on the pitch.

Yup for an ITK that Maddison thing basically finished him off. Nowadays these guys try to play both sides so they aren’t wrong! He seemed adamant that we would sign Maddison, sounded like whoever his info was coming from was also being played by Arsenal. Clubs do out put fake info to put pressure on other clubs.

The Partey thing was epic though, no media in this country or abroad were adamant about that signing except for him. Gave him overnight legendary status on Twitter!
