summer plan seems pretty simple to me

sell the guys who have real resale value that arent going to play a part here (ESR, eddie, vieira maybe)

move on the guys who are fading and past it (partey, zinchenko)

spend the bulk of our transfer funds on the single best striker we can buy. fill in around the margins.

I expect our big spend this summer to be a DLP to replace Partey. If we sign an attacker it will be a wide forward, not a striker.

I want:

Sesko : I've been critical on him in the past since he seemed to be a bit clunky but he's won me over with this second half of the season. He's tall, fast, has way better technique than someone like Haaland, and is a ferocious ball striker on either foot with a short backlift. Just look at the goal he scored this weekend - we don't have anyone with that ball striking in the team right now aside from maybe Vieira. Bring him in this summer and he can give more effective bench minutes than Nketiah in the beginning of the season with an eye towards a potential breakout at the end of the season with a year of Arteta's coaching under his belt.
Nico Williams and/or Olise: We need another impactful winger to really push Martinelli for a starting spot and provide rotation/backup for Saka to reduce his load. Personally, I think we need more pace behind the defense to add transition threat so my preference is Nico Williams, especially given his age and potential to develop into a world class winger. However, I also like Olise as he is PL-proven and an output machine when healthy. He doesn't have the transition speed that Nico does but I think he would be just as good a signing for us as Mahrez was for City and would love someone who can steal games with clinical ball striking and ability to break open set defenses. Ideally, I'd love to bring in both if we shift Nelson and ESR out but I'd be okay with one.
Guimaraes - I let my bias get in the way of my judgment. He's a monster and is so good. Him and Rice would be such a great midfield in the league and would open up the attack while taking away nothing from our dominant defense. If we can get him in, we need to do it. If we can't, I'd like to focus on Rice being the 6 and bring in a more attacking 8 like Morgan Gibbs-White.

I'd love defensive cover for Saliba but if we need to prioritize, the three above would be my preference this summer so we can pin our ears back and take down City next year.

People think of Bruno has a clogger but he has 8 goals and 7 assists this season. Look at his cross for Barnes goal yesterday.

Isak though... that's really a dream

Clrnc Oh yeah that Sesko goal was the one I was referencing - the bullet from outside of the box with short backlift. He is an effortless shooter and it looks like he can generate that power on both feet, which is such an advantage at the top level. Still think he needs to add strength and grow into his body a little more since there are still some awkward "tall player" movements but his technique on the ball is very encouraging to me as he already looks 2-3x better on the ball than Haaland does and I am not a fan of a pure finisher like Haaland, despite what he's done at City. Still think City would be a much scarier proposition in big games if they had a more versatile striker and that's what I hope we can develop Sesko into, while still emphasizing his strengths as a striker.

I know he has injury problems but I really like the player. Defo should be the one we go for this summer imo, the only player I'd take over him is Leao but I think that isn't possible to pull off.

Gives us electric pace and I really think he is ready to explode. Also there will be much less work load on him as we have Saka, Martinelli & Trossard at the club.

JazzG For 60m, I wouldn't mind him either but it does sound like Arteta and Edu have concerns around his availability, as they should. I worry about repeated muscular issues given the intensity at which he plays.

Sell/release list: Zinchenko, Partey, Jesus, Vieira, Eddie, Nelson, Ramsdale, Elneny, Cedric

Buy list: CDM, ST, LB, LW, reserve GK.

From that list the CDM absolutely has to be a ready made solution who can walk into the team. Realistically I think Bruno G is ideal there. FDJ would cost too much in wages, etc Zubi would be riskier and seems to have his sights set elsewhere. Definitely R tier.

Then one of the striker and winger has to be of a similar level. The other can be more developmental. Think one R and one S here.

LB I think we've a bit of wiggle room to go for an S or a T. Don't really need to go too hard here and get an R because we did that last season, probably best to go for a T who can slot in and do a good job if we have injury issues with Tomi and Timber.

He was monstrous in midfield yesterday. Stopped our momentum so many times. And very decent in possession. Not a bad fallback option from Bruno

Clrnc he can't pass like Bruno though. I don't think he's good enough for our first XI. We need someone who's a tempo setter. Onana is a poor mans Rice.

Turn Elneny in to Onana and Partey in to Bruno G and we’d be golden

I don't think his injuries are the same which is promising but a player getting injured so frequently is worrying. Despite his injuries though he still looks a beast.

Think he'd be a great addition to the squad, depends on what Everton would want though. Ideally I think we need 2 midfielders in this window, one in the FDJ mould and the other a more defensive player like him. Lets us rotate more easily as Rice had to play a lot of games this season.
