I get the sentiment but I think all involved may feel differently once he's been here for 10 years, is starting to look/feel jaded, injury prone and potentially demotivated while on a mega salary.

I thought I wanted Thierry to retire here until I didn't.

In this day and age, I think it would be genuinely remarkable if Bukayo stayed at Arsenal his whole career, though I'd love him to. I just hope that when he does leave us, we've put a few trophies in the cabinet and that he is able to leave with our best wishes - and a massive transfer fee in the bank account.

Qwiss it all went really sour that last season with us, shame it ended the way it did - the best player in our history deserved better than to go out like that. He must have been so happy to get the fairytale return in 2012.

RocktheCasbah he was forced to play through injury. Would have still been one of our best players the following season if he'd stayed and been allowed to recover properly.

You don’t turn your noses when a serial winner and clutch king like Gundo becomes available.

If anything, Ethan can learn a lot from him.

Ethan will learn a hell of a lot more from actual mins. In the meantime we have plenty of others who can win us the CL.

Pretty sure that's when guys like Elneny were being brought on in the 80th min of our 3-0 leads.

there is no way ethan and his advisors would look at a 34 yr old (not that i advocate signing one) as blocking him.

The problem is even if Gundogan comes, it will have no impact on Ethan minutes. There will be many players Arteta trusts over Ethan at this stage.

Clrnc it will absolutely have an impact. That’s one more guy who plays 2000 minutes to accommodate. It means we will be playing Gundogan or Partey or Merino in the carabao cup at 8 plus Jorginho at 6 to give people minutes. Take away one of those guys, and you suddenly have some openings for Ethan.

Claudius I mean we all hope Arteta will change this season but as past history shown, even without Gundogan here he will probably start Partey Jorginho and Vieira for Carabao or dead rubber UCL matches before bring Saka Odegaard and Rice on in the last 20 minutes.
