Don Pacifico mainly because the outcomes haven't changed. He's never been good at affecting the game from the bench when the primary plan hasn't worked. That's still evident tonight.The way the team has collapsed and the causes is that are very similar to last year. He acknowledged in an interceptor with sky at the half way point is last season you cannot expect a small group of players as he used to last the season and then proceeded to do just that. Again this year we haven't rotated and when things He's bought his players fully in and indoctrinated them in his style is football but it doesn't get you over the line. He will need to change the approach next year the two times we've gone at it that style has key us down. The only time he's so far won a trophy was with a squad that wasn't his and a player in Auba who was a type he doesn't really value single handedly getting a brace in the semi and final.

The quality of our attack and attackers is inflated because our counter pressing is so good at generating chances for us. Jürgen Klopp once said that counter pressing is the new number 10 given that a timely tackle around the opponents box can create an opportunity just as well as some good creative play.

With pressing generally not being all that effective in Europe because every team is so good on the ball, more reliance has been laid on Ode to create chances and the others have frankly been exposed for their lack of quality.

daredevil if your gegenpress leads to chances falling at the feet of a peak mane and salah, instead of a valley jesus and havertz, it can work well in the CL.

Could be but he’s done this before in some high pressure situations, I’ve actually mentioned it before too. His reactions with pressing, tracking and even driving at players drop off by a percentage.

My takeaway from both legs: Quarter finals is just about our level, maybe a different result if we had a luckier draw, but overall we were exposed, both on offense and defense. Not yet ready for the next level.

Looking at the league last season at 32 matches City had 76 points and Arsenal 75 points is there much you could say was different or improved based on that?

How were we easily beaten by Bayern? They won by a single goal on aggregate.

And managing a PL title challenge whilst playing in the QF of CL is not the same as doing so whilst playing in the Europa League with a rotated squad.

I don't think Bayern had to do much to beat us, I'm not liking back thinking that's an excellent master class. Well just didn't offer anything, I think that as fairly comfortable personally I don't think we looked like we were ever going to win or score tonight

lorddulaarsenal I didn’t see anything alarming today. I just saw a team that lacked certain qualities when defended well against. What annoys me over the two legs is the Gnabry goal. That was careless.

Bayern are comfortably better than Dortmund, Atletico and us, and are atleast as good as PSG and Barcelona. Your assessment is wrong, and you sound like that ESPN journalist Steve Nicol.

This argument that we should be beating Bayern because they are at their worst in 20 years whilst we are at our best is ignorant of the levels that exist between us. Bayern at their best is a double winning CL champion, Bayern at their worst is a team in the semi finals of the CL and will finish second in the Bundesliga. Hardly a fall.

Arsenal at our worst is a team finishing 8th and missing out on Europe altogether, whilst Arsenal at our best in recent years is a team finishing second and ending the season empty handed. As much as the gap has closed, there's still a gap between us and you have to be blind to not see it.
