Yeah there's a fair bit on it. Win and we look like a young team progressing to the very top. Fall apart and we look like we're going backwards. Then there's a middle ground where we rarely seem to dwell.

Arteta's track record with us includes many of both these kinds of moment, but after the first leg, this looks like an acid test of his man management. It'll be a big basic ❓ about that if we crumble again.

I don't think it's embarrassing to go out against Bayern, nor is it impressive of us to have reached the QFs if that's where it ends. We'll have beaten Porto and the group stage teams.

QuincyAbeyie yeah I think that's how I feel. You can lose to Bayern but based on the opposition we've faced (the group we got was very generous with almost not champions League level teams) it won't have taught us much about is this team ready to win the big prizes and defeat these kinds of bigger teams.

making the CL quarters is a decent achievement. I say decent because a hell of alot of money has been invested in the team, so making the quarters is meeting expectations for me. making the semis exceeds expectations, so I'm not going to beat the team up if they fall just short against a team of bayerns pedigree. my gut feeling is our season is basically done. we look done. we're just waiting for the maths to confirm it

Looks to me like we're in the lap of the gods. If a couple of things fall our way this evening, we'll likely see the "automatisms" that served us well at the Etihad clicking into gear.

If we go behind to an error or an unlucky situation, certain players' shoulders will drop

That would be my take as well we've seen this moment before where we don't quite have enough to cover that final run in for the challenges.

My sense is I don't think we will win in Munich purely because we haven't been able to get a win against them likes it's Liverpool or city away. In Europe in the away games we've lost to Lens, drew with PSV, lost to Porto so they're isn't a lot so far that makes me feel we are the ones to come through this tie
