goon this is exactly it. There's some short memories on here, for anyone who's watched the CL for the past 20 years should know how much experience plays a role.

Man City won a CL after how many years of trying? They struggled plenty of times to get out of the quarter finals. The same is true of PSG. Plus 10 years ago Real Madrid used to get memed because they couldn't get past the round of 16 for a while.

I think the challenge is away from home we aren't great in Europe and in the tougher games in the league we are usually drawing them but not as great at going out and getting the win. So it's not something we like to do in those fixtures.

Sicario2 he was similar in the ECL last season. Paqueta was the standout mid in that run and even Coufal was better in the final. As we've seen all season Rice has technical weaknesses but the rest of his game is so good it's worth balancing them. You just need to push the balance to the more technical side in the CL. Still room for Rice but not Rice and Havertz.

Yeah, unfortunately both have to avoid a yellow next week but can play with shackles off if we progress into the semi's when yellow cards reset.

Not sure why this match has become the proof we have to switch things up in Europe. Yes, the CL pits us against champion sides who've learnt to win, with players that seize and frustrate chances better than middling Premier League sides. But Bayern aren't different class to City who we just held out at the Etihad.

Toss Jesus in for his quick feet up front given how good he was yesterday. Give Kiwior a break in favour of Tomiyasu as well, but leave the rest of the selection alone. We're impaired either way with both Saka and Martinelli half-injured and half out of form, but still needing to start.

Barring our two very costly sequences of errors, we had decent control in this match. We drew rather than lost and outdid Bayern on the numbers. To read the press you'd think one of our players had died.

Our chance to get out of this tie alive will come from cutting out the nerves, and varying the approach we've used all season—simple and familiar. It'll be hard because Tuchel will rest key players again and throw everything at us.

Yellow cards are wiped put after the quarters are finished. Any yellow cards which reach the threshold for a suspension acquired during the second leg of the quarter final will have to be served during the first leg of the semi final. If you get through the quarters without being reaching the threshold, then you won't miss the swcond leg or the final due to an accumulation of yellos, unless you receive two yellows in the same game. It's there to prevent players missing the final due to collecting two yellows over the two legs of the semis.

we are better than them, but several players were wowed by the occasion - Kiwior, Big Gabi, Gabimart... that left side was dodge af. They've also got some insane individual quality, that Sane run was something else. Criticism of that White chance is harsh but it sure looked terrible at the time. We certainly paid for missing that. Onward to the Allianz tho, we absolutely can win it there.

Tim Stillman made a very good point on the ArsenalVision pod this week, how many teams in Europe have a better front three than Sane, Kane & Gnabry? I'm not sure there's many - we definitely don't!

RocktheCasbah Our fans showed way too much disrespect to Bayern, look at the quality they have in their team. There have been a variety of issues at the club but when you have players of that calibre you can't just write them off. Despite all that we were the architects of our own downfall and still have a great chance going to their place.

They aren't even that bad in their own league, it is just Leverkusen who have been unreal. They've won 24 out of their 28 league games this season!!

JazzG yeah. The way people were underestimating Bayern is bizarre. I was looking forward to the clash precisely because they’re a good team. They’ve literally had a stumble in the past two months, but their core team is very impressive. A large part of this starting line up won Champs League 3 years ago. If you offered me their 3 forwards in a trade, I wouldn’t hesitate.

But they have exploitable weaknesses. And we need to focus on those now

Fans underestimating or overestimating opposition teams isn't much of a muchness so long as the players aren't getting complacent or overconfident, or on the other side being fearful and in their shells.

The manager and the players need to prepare themselves properly and go into each game clear eyed on what needs to be done. Fans writing us off because of a poor result, or saying we'll win everything shouldn'tmatter to the team.

The team shouldn't let a bad result mean they give up the season when eariler fans were saying it's all over, nor should they be thinking we have it in the bag like last season everyone was saying we've pretty much got it.

Let the fans, fan. If they are excited and think we'll destroy Bayern, let them. If it happens they'll enjoy it, if not, that's punishment enough for them to be brought crashing back down to earth. Not everyone is like @goon and able to straddle both sides of the coin at the same time.

At most, people's thoughts about our chances have reflected more neutral actors like betting companies.

Big Willie I guess Jazz is just saying fans should be realistic about the games in front of them. I have a barrage of Whatsapps on my phone from my uncle over the Arteta years and, even as we've reason from 8th to title contenders, they haven't really changed in tone. His latest one, post Bayern calls Odegaard perceived reluctance to shoot "hugely disappointing" and says he is "far too safe and conservative in possession."

I mean, where do you start with that? I mean, you all know by now I've tended towards a more optimistic reading of the Arteta years, but Odegaard as club captain is Arteta's man on the pitch - I don't know on what level of understanding football you have to be to get to this level of unhappiness with the skipper of the Premier League leaders.

My personal belief is that my uncle just has ridiculous and completely unrealistic expectations of our players and manager - and they make him unhappy at things he shouldn't really be unhappy about. And I think the same is largely going to be true of any Arsenal fans expecting us to roll over Bayern Munich like we did, for example, Brighton.

I don't have a problem with that per se, as long as I don't have to listen to the fall out.
