Mikel is unlikely to rest/bech Saka but I wouldn't start him as he looks unfit to me and seems to be playing at 50-60%.

Saka's been running on a broken leg and said as much after Brighton. He's been clutch under those conditions before, but if a week's rest could see him fit for the rest of the run-in it'd be preferable to always starting him.

Coman has been out for quite a bit with a knee injury, came back for a cameo against Dortmund and then didn't play their last game. Don't think he'll start against us

Sincerely hope we don't start Zinchenko. in the last 2 matches he played, he made our game build up far slower but taking so many unncessary touches in the middle and end up passing back or running into Jorginho's area.

Worm has really turned on Zinchenko amongst the fanbase.

I'm not blind to his weaknesses but I also think it's easy to underplay the additional options he gives us (which Kiwior nor Tomi really, does not). In a 1st leg where we really need to take a lead of some sort to the Allianz, I'd be open to gambling a little (assuming we're not funnelling all our play through him, which currently we don't). Would perhaps require Partey in midfield over a less mobile Jorginho if you want some additional security

I think the problem for him is our recent run without him has shown us that ball progression and breaking down the opposition isn't an issue with him not in the team. Last season the flaws were worth it because he was so fundamental to our game, the same just isn't true anymore.

I'd much rather bring him on if we're struggling to break them down.

goon yeah, I get that. I just think that a big part of how we play is possessing multiple avenues by which we can create chances (ie. Creative variety), thereby making it harder to nullify us (think Brighton was a good example).

Kiwior to me, despite his recent growth in the role, represents a more defensive option than Zinchenko and I don't think we need that tonight but would consider it for the 2nd leg if we take a lead to the Allianz.

In one of our games in Jan/Feb, I'd avoided the score so much, got home started watching it. Not even a couple minutes in I get a call from a friend who I hadn't spoken to for a while.

First words out his mouth were something like "big win for your boys that" followed up "5-0" or "6-0". Mind you thus isn't even someone who watches football beyond if its playing somewhere he just so happens to be. 🤬

I was confused how to feel. Great that we smashed the opposition, or pissed because the moment was ruined. In the end I told him to not say another word, so I avoided the goalscorers and the time so was ok cuz each chance I was thinking it might be one of the goal.
