He's as young as Arteta lol wtf. Guy looked like he can still play for days.
Bryant probably missed it in the heat of the match but credit to Porto for protecting Pepe so well, we didn't have a single opportunity to run straight at him
And he is still pretty quick. Incredible defender.
I remember in the past when defenders are past it they look so bad, like Keown in his latter Arsenal career.
Nowadays Pepe, Thiago are handling young top strikers very well and not beaten for pace.
Clrnc I expect most of the current gen of young players to continue playing at a high level till their 40. The roadmap is clear, a players career shouldn't fall off post 30.
Clrnc Thiago is done, Chelsea lose whenever he plays.
Thierry sure had a lot of confidence in us during the shootout. Who knew Big Meeks is a big Arsenal fan!
Bryant Who knew Big Meeks is a big Arsenal fan!
Anyone who played Football Manager back in the day. I always signed him for Arsenal because he was an Arsenal fan and quality in FM when he was 19/20.
lorddulaarsenal what HAVE you become Chris? 😁
RocktheCasbah I know it’s frightening. They need to start re-selling Lucozade shots!
Good video on the tactics of the game, Ramsdale/Raya and mentality. Worth a watch.
Pepe LeFrits Good context on Saka, Rice and Øde's roles in that. Arteta gets some credit for the tactical changes too.
Pepe won’t like to admit it but Pepe was dogshit on our goal
lorddulaarsenal that's so funny, I was chatting to a security guard at work today and he's been looking for some new Lucozade variation - it's blue and called berry blush or something. He thinks it might be an east London thing!
My 5 favorite things from last night

This was a completely different performance than away to Porto. We were not poor and deserved to win 2-0, Ode's goal should've stood.
That was one weird ref. Let's everything go until inside the box. Good thing is we took advantage of him being like that and stuck a bit in ourselves.
Havertz grabbed the defender's shirt. As much as I hate that ref, it was the right call. I don't understand why Havertz fouled him because he would have knocked himself over regardless.
Gurgen I thought the call was more for Havertz impeding the keeper which would have been right
If that's a grab then Ødegaard's (?) shirt was too.
That can't be the most effective way to skin the mid block cat though. It was basically a stalemate set up, no overloads available to exploit, with chances depending solely on a mistake from the defenders. We should be able to overcome that tactically. I hope it's something we get to work on during the 3 week break.
flobaba it’s not just about a mid block. It’s about them also stopping the game. We play a ton of mid and low blocks. We have the deepest possession and most defensive actions in the final third of any premier league team. So we know how to operate there. It’s the constant interruptions. It made it very hard for us to get any rhythm. Even on set pieces, they would just dive. Incredible team, really
