Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert looked good, didn't he? More to come, I think!
RocktheCasbah can't believe his build at that young age.
Really confident too. Wants to play his natural game - wasn't overawed.
We looked great from start to finish. The XG on this is going to be out of sight. I am not worried about our dependence on set pieces. At this point it's not luck, it's a consistent and effective way of generating very high quality chances.

Clrnc are his penalties being saved or does he miss the target?
Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert interesting that he saw so much of the ball. As Arteta said afterwards, that indicates a level of trust in him from the first team squad. So I wonder, how much is he training with them now? Is the trust issue one of the reasons we haven't seen more of the youngsters this season?
Usually it's trust and the confidence the player has shown in training. If you noticed, for the most part the players avoided giving the ball to Kiwior very often even when he was wide open. Passes they would definitely have made if Zinchenko was in the position. They picked other options instead. It's just how it is. You have to earn the right to receive the ball, especially in tight spaces / under pressure.
Arteta's hardly played the youth - For the league/CL I get it, but for these opportunities where Elneny/Cedric are on before it's staggering. Before anyone says they need minutes for the fact we might 'need' them. NO.
Better to play unproven potential than proven shit.
RocktheCasbah But I am actually kind of with everyone who was like "Cedric, wtf?" today - he must be a very good egg around the group, is all I can think.
Going by what Arteta said,
Think everyone wants the young players to get minutes instead
Fuck West Ham.
That was for ruining our title race last season.
Glad Rice scored, that was for booing him in the league cup game.
Arsenal Revenge Tour 2024 coming along nicely. Newcastle next.
Burnwinter What a stat, almost hard to believe
Wasn't the last time against Newcastle in that absolute fix up of a game?
Big Willie the 4-4 one, yeah.
Big Willie big time. Joey Barton acting like a prick and Diaby taking the bait. The worst of refereeing though, real typical "soft Arsenal don't like it up em" so just let some shit northern team cheat all game.
Pepe LeFrits you could tell he was holding back too, keeping it real simple to fit in and do as told.
Nwaneri glides - some player we have there
looking at the stats from the last 2 games against them, the law of averages would suggest west ham had this hiding coming
Clrnc back to this. Super important. Our ability to execute on set pieces is critical. Those are the margins that make control ball work. Even if we find it hard to break down low blocks, having that knowledge and confidence that we can make the breakthrough through set pieces is a huge bonus for the team. Add to that the newfound assurance within the backline and the goalkeeping position, and we have a good chance of making some noise come the business end of the season.
Good stuff all round.
Rice taking set pieces is Sue Perb
Only complaint about today: Walters should have come on instead of Cedric
Floodgates well and truly opened. Feels weird that it's 2024 and Elneny and Cedric are on the pitch for us but supposed it was just a one off with the game done.
