Toney might be available, and by all reports has been pushing to join us. It's January. It's not like we have tons and tons of options right now.

flobaba I dunno but he's certainly not the only available striker out there. Toney hasn't played competitive football for 7 months and will have a heavily inflated price tag attached to him in Jan. Doesn't make sense to me - we have to buy smarter, particularly if we're bringing someone in in January.

We were a high scoring team last season. No Wenger team even had managed as many goals in a league season as we did in 2022/23. The personnel in the front line is the same. Our center backs, Rice, Odegaard and Saka are easily top 3 in their position in England if not the best in their position. With such quality all over we should be doing better. Teams studied us and adapted. It is time for Arteta to improvise and we haven't really. Xg and all is great but I just don't get the feeling we create enough sustained pressure in areas that matter to crack some of the teams that setup like West Ham did. We should be scoring more goals even with the players we have. We seem too robotic in how we attack at times. We need a bit more expression and intuition.

It really is just an unacceptable result for a team that wants to win the title. Especially when already dropped points to Fulham and Tottenham at home and we aren't exactly pulling up any trees away from home.

I don't see us improving our level in the 2nd half of the season so we're on course for an 80 point season and that won't get us the title.

Panda that said we’ve clearly not played to our potential and we have key players to return plus an opportunity to strengthen in the market.

It’ll be maddening if we have no alternatives to Jesus and Martinelli come February.

That's too bad. Don't really think we've outgrown anyone, since that would imply that we're better than what we were. The first half of last season for me is quite far ahead of the second half and the first half of this one.

But we now have loftier ambitions and expectations which brings additional pressure which some players can’t operate well within. We’re also having a tougher campaign due to Champs League commitments. Injuries this season are worse too.
