MistaT contrary to the way they played last year I really think Martinelli needs a proper CF with him. He gets into the box and plays a lot of dangerous balls. Jesus just isn't a natural CF who goes attacking those kinds of ball.

It's clear we're lacking a proper center forward presence. Jesus is good for tactical fluidity, him and marti swap easily. We must have a better option there in the market. We will struggle to win cups with him there, not impossible but harder

Very good performance and deserved win jist should really have been a 4-5 nil to us. The worry remains even in a game like today where where we were functioning near our best it was still a lower close margin then it should be.

Odegaard was back to his best today, that pass in the first half was something else.

Watched Liverpool earlier and I thought they looked shit. I will be disappointed if we don't win next weekend tbh. Need to exorcise from my mind the shit we pulled their last season and winning it will go a long way to doing that.

Martinelli created a shitload of chances and Odegaard played like prime Zidane. Absurd to criticise either of them. With better finishing this game could have finished 6-0 and we were playing an outstanding team that routinely beats us at home.

Yeah I'm finding the criticism of Martinelli strange. I thought he was pretty good and if we had a proper striker I'm sure he'd have finished the game with a couple of asssits.

People keep saying how we need to upgrade on him but I'm sure if we ever put him on the market all the bug guns not named Real Madrid would be on him like a flash. Guy is one of the best players in the league in his position and well on the way to becoming a bonafide superstar.

Big Willie ARE people saying we need to upgrade him? I mean it remains clear that his final third execution needs to improve, but we'd be doing very well to find anyone who gives what he gives - both in attack and defence.

He needs to improve. He’s at best stagnated or at worst regressed. If we want to win the league we need him to chip in, we can’t just rely on Saka and Jesus.

KingslandBarge definitely the case that our front 4-5 aren't really playing on instinct. I think thats why on Trossards good days he looks so sensational, he still plays likes that, he's just not quite as good as Saka, Martinelli, etc I don't what the cause is, maybe its Artetas messaging, maybe its just the wound of last season, maybe its something else entirely but I'm pretty confident that Saka, Martinelli and Odegaard will all find their groove again. Some positive signs in that regard recently. And even when they aren't at their most confident they've still be pretty good, especially Saka.

And with whom, in all seriousness? This time last year people thought Mudryk would be an upgrade. And whoever you put up, let's hope they can play two ways and create width the way Gabi does from left wing. The latest estimate of his value is about £75m, and it'd be more to get a comparable player in winter, let alone a better.

He's been showing signs of getting his scoring boots on again lately, and though none of the large number of situations he created was fruitful against Brighton, he was terrorising them. It's realistic to think his form hasn't peaked yet this season.

In periods across this season, hesitation has creeped into his decision making. He may be the one suffering more extensively on that, but he is not alone there. Ødegaard, Jesus and Saka have also had to deal with it. I wonder if the deep blocks and fine margins for execution have been a source of adversity everyone has been working through, trying to reconcile individual instinct and collective guile. Also, I think we need to offer him more rotational support; I appreciate that as a need a bit more of late. Martinelli is a golden ticket, a great personality, and I want him to be our starter for years.

You guys need to stop being so reactive. Players go through phases of productivity, that's exactly when you want teammates to step up. The main thing is are they are playing a big part in our table topping performances.

This is the case almost every game with him, even when he isn't scoring/assisting. He's usually causing havoc to the fullback he's up against regardless of game state, and he's also always, and I mean ALWAYS, busting a gut to get back on the cover to win the ball even when it doesn't look like a dangerous situation might develop. I absolutely love the guy.

Yeah, I don't get it. I find it hard to imagine anyone I'd rather have now other than Saka, Martinelli and Odegaard. Maybe Vini Jr or Mbappe as someone mentioned, but other than that, not really. And that's even without factoring their age and potential to improve further, which is scary.

I'd even say the same of Rice and Saliba, and probably Gabriel although I imagine maybe that would be easier. I love the guy though.
