Well, that sooooo much fun - and Jorginho even took a proper penalty. What in the world....
UCL | Arsenal - Lens | Wed, 29 23 20.00 PM GMT
Back in the knock out stages of the champions league. It's exciting.
Sicario2 - Tier 1 We can have effectively 8 days rest between Villa away and Brighton at home without any worry - just play the kids, Rambo and Elneny v PSV away in between
Realistically, I think it's going to be more fringe players than kids. And that's probably right given the need for minutes amongst the majority of our reserves.
If Ramsdale wants to see what a winner’s mentality looks like, he should take a look at Tomiyasu

Well well well. I go to a game and we win 6-0, take note Arsenal. Let me buy more freaking tickets.
Rice may never be as silky as Partey on the ball, but my word does this guy dominate that midfield.
Good to see that front 4 back, firing and, if you add Kai, all 5 of our ‘forwards’ scored.
Bring on the last 16.

November's player of the month is anyones pick. I would think it'd be between Tomiyasu, Saka and Havertz.
Raya's distribution improved as tonight's match wore on. Started to resemble expectation.
Thought Kiwior was excellent when he came on too. Starting to play with some real personality.
We’ve got some excellent options in that back line, they should all play a part in the next few weeks.
goon I'm still not entirely sold on Kiwior at LB. Distribution is decent but don't see him giving us the attacking options that all our other FBs do. I'm sure it's something that can improve with training (and arguably this is what we've seen from Tomi and to a lesser extent White) but not convinced yet.
If there was any doubt that we aren't choosing to play slowly, it was last night. If we're given the space to attack we will blow teams away. PL teams have changed their tactics against us, and it's been a question of learning how to break down low blocks. CL teams are playing us like PL teams did earlier last season, and hopefully we can keep facing open teams all the way to lifting the damn thing.

Imagine it gets cagier as the L16 and QFs (should we get there) wear on. Thinking thats where we'll need to showcase different ways to win and showcase what we've learnt from early season control ball.
5 matches in Arsenal are top in the competition for non-penalty goals scored (@Big Willie ), second for goals conceded and I suspect the best GD. They're taking pride in the dominance
When I saw how rubbish their keeper was I knew we were in for a good one. That Saka goal later made me laugh.

daredevil building on some chat earlier in the week particularly on corners (circa KingslandBarge ) some insight through a top-level PL vs CL comparison.
PL: 8.8 corners per game (1st) // 33.3 touches in pen box (2nd)
CL: 4.4 corners per game (21st) // 29.4 touches in pen box (5th)

Biggest difference is the opposition. There's been no doubling up on our wingers, the deep blocks are not that deep and teams have generally tried to play football. Funnily enough, aspects of control ball then goes out the window, because we've been unable to dominate possession to the same extent, because the opposition isn't giving us the space to control play all the way up to their final third/penalty box.
I wonder if rather than a huge change in style of play it's just about how much teams respect us.
banduan Brice Samba was Forest GK for a while in the Championship. Despite his recent France caps, I think he showed that kind of level yesterday.

Does better when under less pressure, he needs to improve against teams who press us though.
JazzG Agreed. I do recall so far seeing various GKs like Allison and Ederson pressed into some really bad errors this season. Can't be easy, and felt Ramsdale was a bit singled out last weekend.
Because his mistake was absolutely awful.
