Gazza M In our defence the market for defensive midfielders has never been more fucked up, and also we were supposed to have Timber inverting, which would've changed the balance of athleticism and defensive capability for us. You can vaguely see the logic of Havertz from orbit, but £65m should've been £40m, we got skinned by a silly club.

This is the kind of fixture we have to win and it should be one we can demonstrate that we have some kind of attacking game plan. We've struggled at home especially to create so that needs to improve and we have to be willing to risk a little more in this type of fixture. Sheff utd are one of a number of really poor sides in the league this season so we should be able to demonstrate that on the day.

"In theory", this should be a hammering (or at the very least, a comfortable 2 to 3 goal win). SU are firmly at the bottom of the table, they have shipped 24 goals, we're at home and coming off a decent win at Sevilla. Even with GJ and Partey missing, we have entirely too much for Sheff.

goon I agree, we really do need a game that will let us just showcase the vast amount of talent that do actually have. We've only shown it in stops and starts. One game when everything comes together would be nice.

I am always happy when we win, even 1-nil to the Arsenal.. But i'll be honest, a throwback Wengerball-esque 6-1 drubbing would feel really good.

Im not expecting it, but one can dream.

To be fair we’ve played Utd, Spurs and City at home (all tough matches) and Fulham scored a fluke goal in first min.

We scored v PSV fairly early.

hoped to see ESR for O, but didn't expect a couple more changes to the starting line up as well. Feels like making the other changes serves to defuse the narrative of dropping our captain.
