Were we really bad or Chelsea good? Heard they crammed midfield and that penalty is soft as hell and a jammy goal for them.

JazzG Chelsea weren't great at all, but they definitely had way more appetite than us, and they built on that to control 70 minutes of the game. they didn't create much outside 2 relatively fortunate goals. at the same we were execrable in terms of effort and execution. 0 shots on target until rice scored

Without Partey, we are half a team. Zinchenko is the only man remaining who can pass through the lines. Building up with Rice and Tomiyasu is going to end us. And I rate both of them.

daredevil zinchenko has been off it for most of 2023 tbh. he's only in the team for his passing, and we're getting diminishing returns from him on that front at the moment

Can’t read much in to it. The waterlogged pitch stifled our passing game. They were fouling and being cloggers. Had a pen that shouldn’t have been given, and a fluke second.

Just a bad day at the office for us. It’ll happen.

We’d improve massively with Partey in the line up

Why wasn’t Partey playing? Because he played for Ghana twice and would be too many games for him ?

It was his through pass to Rice that created the only chance we had in the first half. He's created similar openings in most games this season without Partey to back him up. Our pipeline is fucked but he's the only one who is still passing through the lines.

Zinchenko was always about him contributing offensively as he's a pretty big liability defensively.

We are just struggling so much offensively. I get about the general position unbeaten etc but I want us to win the league and I think the problems with our attack if they continue will probably prevent that.

Sicario2 - Tier 1

Don’t think Zinny been that bad, just glad he’s managed to stay injury free (touch wood). Until today we hadn’t conceded any away goals.

He was pretty damn good against City which was only 2 weeks ago.

Ugh, I wish @goon wouldn't have been so terribly, terribly wrong about their team's ability to trouble us. Oh well, I guess a draw in a tough game will have to suffice.

My assessment was spot on imo. I said they had a very good midfield but shit at either end. They gave us a good game in midfield and won the battle, but in fairness I was hoping Partey would play and that Odegaaed wouldn’t have his worst game of the season.

In the final third, they scored from the dodgy pen and a freak cross, and then conceded two goals and very nearly a third from minimal pressure.

I would have thought my place in the prediction league would have finally gotten my ball knowledge some respect but I guess haters are gonna hate.

goon I hate it. You can see it’s putting everyone off their game, no one is quite sure what they should be doing with the ball.

This is exactly what people were complaining about a few games ago when we supposedly dominated the game courtesy of a deflection and two penalties (can't even remember who it was against, Fulham maybe). Things just seem very difficult for us, almost every game we've played has gone to the wire. It's not sustainable to keep expecting us to get penalties and deflected goals when we create so little game after game.

Happy with the result considering the circumstances but we really should have been dispatching them quite easily. They are a really poor team despite whatever xG stats tell you considering almost everyone they've played this season has been bottom of the barrel. They've won one home game since March ffs.
