HomeSteak so much happens after that point that it isn’t reasonable to pin the blame on Nketiah.

On the flip side, Jesus has to at least work the keeper after he robs Maddison on the edge of the box. No excuse for not hitting the target from a central position that close to goal. Those are the big moments that can swing momentum.

Qwiss i think we executed 50% of the game plan perfectly. our press had them spooked for 35 minutes and we should've had a 2nd to bury their confidence. the other 50% - passing and finishing - unfortunately hasn't been up to scratch

The solution to these issues is often the threat of the ball to Martinelli (or Trossard in fact), not to mention Gabi's great energy. We look a bit static and lacking in athleticism today

Qwiss we struggled with that from the start. even under average pressure, we've been miscontrolling and over hitting things. and we also look weirdly leggy at times. dunno if fatigue from the PSV game is a factor

Burnwinter Exactly what I was alluding to. People start clutching at straws at imaginary things that suddenly Ramsdale is bad at and Raya is good at.

Everytime when Arteta makes a decision the overjustification begins.

If we’re designed to be a technical team there’s two glaring weaknesses in Nketiah (on ball) and Jesus (finishing). That alone is enough to have turned this game from comfortable to a fairly deserved 1-1 score line.

Get ESR or Nelson on and move Jesus centrally. It won’t solve his finishing issues but we’ll remove Nketiah’s hold up woes.

that's where having guys who actually finish off chances is helpful. it makes the game more comfortable and allow you to rest a bit during the game.

We pressed well and created chances and openings through our press which we should have taken. I don't think we will be able to sustain the same energy through the 90 behind our CL outing midweek.

We didn't pass it too well though. We didn't really take advantage of their high line. Nketiah and Vieira didn't make it count in that half. We will need to play through them better. They are quite ordinary.

This is a great point. We started these major home fixtures with demonic intensity last season, and the same level won't be available now.

It's a great test of character this. If we can't take three points from here we've fucked up badly.

MistaT yeah saka actually got a piece of the ball and it deflected loose, but no-one was close enough to clear it. still not great defending by saka, he had the chance to get goal side there
