Games are not being added to add value to fans, it’s being added to fleece them. Not a single fan I’ve ever spoken to wanted more CL group stage games that they’ll feel obliged to pay £80 to attend.
I actually like the idea of an expanded club World Cup as at least that’s novel, but the large majority on here think it’s a crap idea.
No one really cares about the league cup. It’s a completely redundant competition.
March internationals… enough said.
So yeah. Managers can rotate, or just deal with players being out for 6 months, or fatigue etc. But you’re just fighting the cause of the people who want to extract every penny out of the game, and not by increasing its appeal, but by pushing the saturation point as far as they can.
