Solid talent ID when we tried to get Luiz a couple of years ago, he hadn't impressed me at all back then. I guess he's turned out better than we thought as well since we stopped bidding at 25m last time.
What's Douglas Luiz contract like now? Long left? How are his wages?
Big Willie Yeah I am talking in terms of amortization to be in line with FFP. We wouldn't be in breach in this case as academy players count as pure profit.
That's how City and Chelsea often can rack up big amounts by selling academy players
Luiz is an excellent player, but I get the feeling we are looking at a more physical player.
The rumoured release clause is in the €130m-€140m region. I would like us to go for Toney only if the fee is reasonable, up to £50m, otherwise it is probably worth it to pay up for Osimhen in the summer. He is nearly 3 years younger and has the potential to transform our attack.
He’s the type of striker that carries a genuine goal threat whoever he’s up against. Would love him.
Toney in the winter
Oisimhen in the summer
Use Jesus as a versatile option
DiabyKungFu fair. Just build a squad sensibly. The way we finally have. That said, extending Nelson and Nketiah has given us options for selling 2 players who could fetch us £50-70m in this market. And again, both are pure profit at a time when we are skating close to the FFP edge.
Wonder how much for, suppose to be a good prospect.
The type of deals we should be actively exploring, especially if he becomes Homegrown by getting him now.
Maybe good signing for the future but will it lead us closer to the title this season? Nope
Need proper signings
Arteta confirm we will spend in January and we have ideas. And unsure how the squad will look like after January.
Bring it on. Really love transfer Windows under Arteta it's always exciting
I like that arteta doesn't rest on his laurels and demands more from quality.

Define proper?

Come on man, you know what I mean!
Trossard last Jan is a proper signing.
Arshavin was a proper signing.
Players that can help us get across the line. They can be squad players like Jorginho too.
You really think signing this 17 year old kid will make the difference between us winning the title and not?
That's not a reason not to sign him. He won't make a difference next season if we sign him in the summer either, that doesn't mean we should never sign youngsters.
We do need a 'proper signing' as well though.
Cautionary story time. We nearly spent 80-100m on Mudryk and Caicedo to ‘get us over the line’ last Jan, and it doesn’t look like either would have made a difference based on what they’ve done at Chelsea.
I don’t think we should ever sign players for short term goals and then convince ourselves they suit the long term too. That’s the path to having dysfunctional squads.
