I had to read that a couple of times to confirm that you were taking the piss
Raya joins Arsenal

It's been a long long time since I have witnessed an Arsenal keeper being this bad. Last was probably Cech vs West Ham 8 years ago.
(I don't consider Runarsson as a keeper)
Rewatching the mistakes, thought it was interesting to note our players reaction to both the goals. They were visibly disgusted by him and walked away. Gabriel tried to berate him a little for the 2nd goal but even he gave up on the 3rd goal.
Quite a distinct difference to when Ramsdale made those mistakes and everyone ran to him to rally him. Even at the final whistle Raya was trying to get close to Rice and enjoy the limelight but little attention was given to him.

That really fucked me off at the time (after all, I want blood), but I think Raya's reaction is actually quite normal and human - "hey man, you got me out of jail there"...
I'm still going to hate watching this guy in nets for us though.
Arteta has made a bit of a hole for himself but not following what he claimed earlier in the season. From talking about subbing keepers but not even rotating them or having a CL keeper.
Now if he removes Raya it's another big story and loads of attention on Ramsdale. If he was rotating, at least a little, like he hinted he would, he'd actually be able to pick keepers based on form.
Disappointing signing so far. Has to do better on the corner. He barely even jumped. And flappyhandski would have been proud of that attempt to punch the ball.
That said, there were a couple of pieces to Ross Barkley's goal before Raya allowed the shot to squirm under him. 1) Odegaard has to be stronger in the midfield duel. 2) Saka not being back in time to put pressure on Barkley
3) Ben White and his penchant for jockeying from 10 yards away.
Ultimately Raya has to do better for those two goals. The goal keeping situation is a mess. Let's see how Arteta handle things going forward
I think he is definitely an improvement on Ramsdale but maybe not as big improvement as we had hoped.

JazzG Ramsdale isn't as error prone as him.
Raya is not only short but lacks any presence as a goalie. Very Ospina esque. Both are not the solution but both are our problem now. So annoying.
Been mentioned for many times that competition for goalie is detrimental for each other and we have seen it clearly over the season
Ramsdale made as big errors in the Brentford game but got let off, Raya was not quite as lucky. But I think as a GK and as far as passing the ball out Raya is better than Ramsdale.
Personally I want to see someone of the calibre of Allison between the sticks but not many top keepers available right now.
Decent analysis.

There was that period under Wenger where we couldn't defend a cross and it almost felt like a guaranteed goal every time the opposition got a corner. We've been pretty good at defending them lately but now with Raya it's the same sort of feeling of dread any time a cross goes anywhere near him. As an opposition player there's no reason to cross it anywhere else.

invisibleman18 he was a clear upgrade claiming crosses for the first few games, especially as Ramsdale had been awful commanding his box for months. Now here we are...something isn't right in Arsenal's goalkeeping setup, it can't just be the players at this point. Signing Runnarson is the canary in this particular coal mine.
The bit I hate most about this is that all the armchair pundits talking about the negative impact of having two first choice goalies being proven correct. The number of "I told you so's" we're going to have to bear on this will be painful.
Qwiss That's my view too. Ramsdale had a shaky first half against Brentford (noting he was a more composed in the 2nd and half and got out of it with a clean sheet) when he hadn't played for 10 games or whatever it was and knew he was coming in for possibly his last game of the season and maybe even for the club. But it's also worth remembering he was voted into the PFA team of the season last season and nominated for the Yashin award. I don't think anyone has suggested he's peak Seaman or Lehmann, but it also feels unfair to portray him as some sort of dodgy Almunia.
TambourineMan could we blame then? All of them were keepers who advised against this
Qwiss Absolutely. And physically more aggressive and courageous. He's far from perfect but I don't see him getting as badly steamrolled by Adebayo, as Raya just was.

Why? I recall us conceding from multiple Ramsdale flaps last season
I don't remember whether we've conceded from it or not, but it's definitely something Ramsdale is prone to do as well.
