To disagree with all the best managers thinking more than one skill is important for a GK is certainly an opinion.

His ball-playing skills are world class. Has taken our build-up game to the next level.

juice wasn't worth the squeeze with this guy.

inaki cana needs demotion to bibs and cones as well. wouldn't stop banging on in artetas ear about this guy since 2020

No idea which of these two is better now: Arteta has turned both into nervous wrecks. Oh well. At least Arsenal's only a keeper graveyard, not an everywhere else graveyard. ☠️

Burnwinter Raya was always dodgy AF. Inaki Caña has a lot to answer for. Starting with me still being awake at 1.45am on a school night because of his protégé's antics.

      hahaha anarchy cana. apropos

What I want to know is who recommended Cana?

Realistic conspiracist take: Arteta's public encouragement of players disguises a private tendency to write players off. When Ramsdale had a wobble during our injury-stricken run-in last year, he consulted Caña with a hint of blame, and instead of backing his protégé, Caña responded by throwing Ramsdale under the bus and telling Arteta he'd been recommending Raya for years. Now here we are.

I had to read that a couple of times to confirm that you were taking the piss 🤣

It's been a long long time since I have witnessed an Arsenal keeper being this bad. Last was probably Cech vs West Ham 8 years ago.

        (I don't consider Runarsson as a keeper)

Rewatching the mistakes, thought it was interesting to note our players reaction to both the goals. They were visibly disgusted by him and walked away. Gabriel tried to berate him a little for the 2nd goal but even he gave up on the 3rd goal.

Quite a distinct difference to when Ramsdale made those mistakes and everyone ran to him to rally him. Even at the final whistle Raya was trying to get close to Rice and enjoy the limelight but little attention was given to him.

That really fucked me off at the time (after all, I want blood), but I think Raya's reaction is actually quite normal and human - "hey man, you got me out of jail there"...

I'm still going to hate watching this guy in nets for us though.

Arteta has made a bit of a hole for himself but not following what he claimed earlier in the season. From talking about subbing keepers but not even rotating them or having a CL keeper.

Now if he removes Raya it's another big story and loads of attention on Ramsdale. If he was rotating, at least a little, like he hinted he would, he'd actually be able to pick keepers based on form.

Disappointing signing so far. Has to do better on the corner. He barely even jumped. And flappyhandski would have been proud of that attempt to punch the ball.

That said, there were a couple of pieces to Ross Barkley's goal before Raya allowed the shot to squirm under him. 1) Odegaard has to be stronger in the midfield duel. 2) Saka not being back in time to put pressure on Barkley
            3) Ben White and his penchant for jockeying from 10 yards away.

Ultimately Raya has to do better for those two goals. The goal keeping situation is a mess. Let's see how Arteta handle things going forward

I think he is definitely an improvement on Ramsdale but maybe not as big improvement as we had hoped.

JazzG Ramsdale isn't as error prone as him.

Raya is not only short but lacks any presence as a goalie. Very Ospina esque. Both are not the solution but both are our problem now. So annoying.

Been mentioned for many times that competition for goalie is detrimental for each other and we have seen it clearly over the season
