Sicario2 - Tier 1 Thought he was very good today, one pass in particular for Martnelli was unreal.

That was a spectacular piece of distribution.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 If Eddie gets his flowers today then so should Raya.

I missed the match. Did he make a few great saves?

Qwiss Nothing to do at all entire match. Had a great quick volley pass to Martinelli after a corner.

The pass to Martinelli was quite incredible. However, it's also the kind of pass that Ramsdale used to make when he first came here. For some reason, he stopped making them.

That touch to bring it down was just as impressive, probably even more so.

We really need to do something to our goalkeeping position. It wasn't a problem position last year but now it is. Predictable, and predicted by almost every single professional goalie and pundit that if you have 2 similar level keepers who wants to be number 1, you will end up making both afraid and nervous of making mistakes, eroding their confidence and both performance levels will drop.

That's what we are seeing now. And that's why in the history of football it has not worked before over the long term.

Brilliant investment, this guy. Spent(will spend? makes it even worse) 20m+ and somehow made the position weaker. Edu and Arteta are really kicking it out of the park with these signings.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Whether it was out is irrelevant to judging his abilities and that fumble.

Just like Sanchez's pass against us would've been equally bad if Rice skied his shot, using outcome rather than the action itself to analyze will give you a bad outcome.

Another costly mistake from Raya. I was a positive on this signing when it happened but you'd have to be completely deluded not to see he's been a flop. The Kai Havertz of goalkeepers.

In recent weeks that's now crosses flapped at against Spurs, Chelsea and Newcastle that have all led to goals and dropped points, plus the one he almost punched into the net against Sevilla. Crosses are looking a major concern that are now repeatedly costing us points.

Not surprised Sicario couldn't get here quick enough with a reason for why it doesn't really count. Surprised it wasn't called a "fluke" again though.

        Qwiss

Worst comparison ever. Kai is a big game player, which looks like the opposite of Raya so far.

However, still think it’s been blown out of proportion and becoming a Sky narrative

        Qwiss he's been a flop.

Or flap even. Sicario is right not to compare to Havertz though. The better comparison would be the last Spanish keeper we had.

We only conceded one goal in the match, so from the mistake being described as 'costly', one can deduce what it was.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Ball was out of play so moot point about a mistake.

Don't troll mate. The goal stood so it could have been worth a point at least to save it. Could have changed the result entirely in a key match.

Again, the issue is not even Raya versus Ramsdale. It's this: due to the situation set up by our technical leaders, anything less than a brilliant keeping performance immediately raises questions.

With Raya not in control for the goal we conceded and otherwise unremarkable, what has been the point of it all? It would be less painful had Ramsdale already been sold on.

His performance today was 10,000,000 times better than any performance Aaron Ramsdale has ever had for us in the Champions League. Levels.

Agreed. Another clean sheet. If it wasn’t for that bogus Newcastle goal it would have been 3 consecutive clean sheets.
