Sicario2 - Tier 1 Haven't noticed much of a "pressure campaign" myself. The dumb situation is creating the pressure by itself. Ramsdale's seemingly been pretty reasonable about it and that interview he's just given is the first he's spoken about it publicly.

These stats are totally bogus by the way, I mean there's not even anything about goals or keeping in there? How about including "balls punched cleanly" or "defensive situations where not totally rattled"?!

Fully expect this "saga" will end with Raya being anointed our permanent first choice and Ramsdale leaving, after all that's what Arteta has decided and hung his hat on, and Arteta's least favourite thing is changing his mind. But it has all felt thoroughly pointless and counterproductive thus far.

Qwiss Raya's first 2 games were also against Everton and PSV who didn't have a shot between them. Do people think Ramsdale would have conceded in that Everton game?
Certainly Raya's dealing with crosses is looking a concern and something that may cost us more points throughout the season. In recent weeks we've already had the flap against Spurs for their first goal and the Mudryk goal crossed from a very similar area on the pitch then today the almost punch into his own net in injury time. The punch today felt like something our last Spanish keeper might have managed to do.

Definitely gives some Almunia vibes. Almunia was the beginning of the end for Wenger, hope Raya is not the same for Arteta.

The only thing I will say Raya has over Ramsdale is handling. He likes to catch the ball over parries most of the time.

But he reminds me of generic short Spanish keepers who have fast reflexes, decent with feet but dodgy everything else.

It was a ludicrous attempt at punching out the ball. I actually chuckled in real time, and was utterly bemused watching the replays. Another YOLO moment.

Our goal keeping coach backs this guy?

To be fair, didn't our goalkeeping coach back Runarsson as well?

If Eddie gets his flowers today then so should Raya.

Thought he was very good today, one pass in particular for Martnelli was unreal.

Today is his 5th clean sheet since he became our number 1, not bad.

Yep today we saw the reasons Arteta has been so keen on him for a couple of years. Class distribution.

That was a spectacular piece of distribution.

I missed the match. Did he make a few great saves?

Qwiss Nothing to do at all entire match. Had a great quick volley pass to Martinelli after a corner.

The pass to Martinelli was quite incredible. However, it's also the kind of pass that Ramsdale used to make when he first came here. For some reason, he stopped making them.

        Clrnc Spot on

That touch to bring it down was just as impressive, probably even more so.

We really need to do something to our goalkeeping position. It wasn't a problem position last year but now it is. Predictable, and predicted by almost every single professional goalie and pundit that if you have 2 similar level keepers who wants to be number 1, you will end up making both afraid and nervous of making mistakes, eroding their confidence and both performance levels will drop.

That's what we are seeing now. And that's why in the history of football it has not worked before over the long term.

Brilliant investment, this guy. Spent(will spend? makes it even worse) 20m+ and somehow made the position weaker. Edu and Arteta are really kicking it out of the park with these signings.
