QuincyAbeyie I wouldn't say that PSxG is a good to way to measure the best GK, since there are many aspects to being one, but I do think it's a good way to measure shot-stopping
I'm not saying it's a "bad measure" because I think that's unclear, but I am saying it's an attempt to measure a factor that's very contingent.
Goalkeeper measurement is a contentious area for football data science platforms currently: they use differing proprietary techniques, which they tend to boast about without full details. Opta and Goalkeeper.com are two examples, and based on what I can find, they evaluate Ramsdale quite differently on shot-stopping.
So to repeat, I'd say it's probably unwise to read too much into these analyses without more variables under control, for example Raya playing for Arteta's Arsenal instead of Fulham Brentford. On the bright side though, that in situ comparison is the best argument I've thought of for our "two #1s" approach this season.
