Clrnc well, as Ally McCoist was saying in comms, the player surely wouldn't have gone out there without feeling he was okay. It really looked like a knee ligament injury to me, which is properly rotten luck for him on his debut and is also an absence we're going to measure in months, not weeks.

The way he went down reminded me of Bellerin going down during the Chelsea game, here's hoping it isn't as catastrophic as that was.

I recall it was also a poorly timed and executed tackle by him to begin with. Such a shame if rumours are true but hope he can be in a good place to help us after Christmas

So unfair 😭😭 I'm hoping it's bad as in back by Christmas rather than out for the season ffs. And that also this post turns out to be very dramatic and he is actually back in 6 weeks.

RocktheCasbah Similarly, Bellerin felt ok and got sent back out (not the Chelsea game) only for him to have a fracture right? Or was that Cesc? We have too many of such incidents.

Closest I remember was during Tomi first season when he was injured, but got forced to play and then aggravated it. Oh yeah and the infamous Partey incident at NLD where he asked to come off but we want him to continue playing.

I still can't work out how he got injured.

He made the poor tackle with his left leg, and I couldn't see any impact with his right leg, but that was the one he got treatment on and also the one he grabbed in pain when he pulled up. And when he did grab his right leg, it was the top of his calf he went to. Maybe you could say it was the back of his knee, but it seemed a little too low for that to me.

I really thought and hoped it was a calf strain/tear, but apparently Sky confirmed it was the knee?

Just found out who released this Timber negative news, he is quite reliable in fairness but let’s just wait on the severity of the injury.

If he’s out for a long time it means we’ve essentially only added one player this summer (Rice and Xhaka cancel out).

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Why? We had players suffer injuries last season as well. Frankly we've done great business past few months. Our record of player retention looks spectacular now, and that by itself is now worth hundreds of millions of pounds. I'm keen to hear it's not bad news for Timber, but that's because he's a great addition to the squad.

If the Dr or manager told Timber to play through it, then it's obviously their fault. Timber is also a big boy and if he said it's all good to the Dr., then it's possibly his fault. We don't know, so it's dumb to point the finger at somebody without having all the facts just because you need an effigy to burn.

Either way, would be terrible news if he's out and the way he pulled up looked ominous. Season ending kind of ominous.

Google tells me that the recovery time for a torn meniscus is between four to twelve weeks, which wouldn't be the end of the world. At least it's not an ACL or something like that.

Take a while to assess? As soon as the swelling is down and you can do a scan you know 100% what it is, right?

Jurrien Timber underwent initial scans on Monday but it could take several days before a defined timescale for his recovery becomes clear. It's believed that further exams may be needed to see whether he suffered any meniscus damage.Should it prove to be an ACL injury, Timber would be facing a significant spell on the sidelines.[@jamesbenge]

If it's the ACL thats the season done for him. That is horrible luck. Do we still sell Tierney? We have Timber, Zinechnko, Tierney and Tomyiasu for that position, and I'm 100% convinced it will not be enough to cover all games. They will all break down as soon as possible

Tierney should definitely be kept. You should want 2 players for each position, so 8 defenders. Losing Timber puts us at 7 so we're already looking at quite a few minutes for Holding, and Tierney going will add minutes for Cedric on top of that. F that

Sicario2 - Tier 1

Timber out is a massive blow to title chances.

Everything happens for a reason and if that means we keep Tierney then so be it.

We should be ok between Tierney, Tomi, Kiwior, White, Partey and Zinchenko for the fullback positions but Jurrien was looking like a key ingredient in the team's ability to excel. So really hoping for the least bad news and that he can return 2nd half of season.
Oh shit its sounding like ACL.
