Other industries don’t have similar ‘transfer windows’ or imposed deadlines like football has.

You could argue getting stuff done in a quarter or month end or even by the end of a financial year (depending on industry) but usually ‘trading’ deadlines are not as strict as football.

Either way we are signing Declan Fucking Rice not Michael Jordan. How hard can it be settling his contract T+C’s.

of course but that's my point - if there really was a deadline imminent the deal would be done and dusted. But we're not at risk of hitting the transfer deadline any time soon and neither the player nor our squad are even in the country at the moment.
