The CEO of midfield.
Declan "Deccers" Rice
The cockney Patrick Vieria
I can't actually believe I thought Caicedo was comparable to Rice, Rice is on another level.
It's weird isn't it. Caicedo is not even close. Hasn't kicked on from last season at all.
I think Caicedo would look a lot better here tbf.
Rice has been excellent lately though since he's been given more freedom. He's the perfect Xhaka upgrade.
funny enough, rice said post-match yesterday he sees himself as a 6, but he doesnt mind having more freedom playing as an 8.
Pulisic has stayed fit in a physically less demanding league. That was the main thing holding him back.
flobaba signed a lifelong boot deal with Uggs.
He’s crap. Only positive trait is his tenacity and often that ends up with him giving away fouls.

im just imagining the stat we'd be in if we didn't get rice.
he's been holding down the fort in midfield so well in light of what's going on with partey. also plugged the leadership vacuum left by xhaka.
Rice, Saliba and Trossard should be the model for future signings with the squad we've got. Guaranteed quality at the inevitable nosebleed prices, costly teenagers with generational talent, and underappreciated established players for the squad.
According to the above someone like Douglas Luiz would've been an excellent signing when he was going for £25–30m, might be too expensive now.
Burnwinter and underappreciated established players for the squad.
On this note, we should have got John McGinn instead of Havertz. Would have cost less, much lower wage and he's performed way above Havertz level for the last 3 years.

Why would you imagine that?
The odds on us nailing both midfield signings was always going to be low. Everyone in the top 6 bought a midfielder or two this summer and no club has had a resounding 100% success rate. Rice is arguably the best capture of the lot with Maddison arguably just ahead. Havertz no doubt one of the worst, but hey Tonali is banned for almost a year and Caicedo is playing like a drunkard.
Tonali being banned for gambling isn't something the club should've done different at the time of making the signing. Same with us and Partey.
I'm not disputing that, rather the immediate outcome of him being signed would have been his suspension for the entire season.
Think Tonali and Havertz are about the same level. The player we should have signed in hindsight is Szoboszlai. The player we should have signed in foresight is MacAllister.
If we want Douglas Luiz again, and we wanted him in the 2022 summer window then we should have just signed him instead of Havertz, his stock was about as low as it was gonna get in the summer.
