That was a weird way to announce it. 😆

I've refrained from commenting to much as I prefer not to assume singings are done until announced. This feels monumental and a real statement that we are big again. Imagine a season ago thinking we’d get him. It was just assumed he’d end up at one of the Manchester clubs. Think it's only the second time in my life I’ve punched the air at a signing announcement. Ironically the first was Arteta who I’d wanted for years and felt like my dream signing at the time.

This feels huge. Barring injury he should be one of England’s best players for the next decade and possible future captain too. I tend to get a bit on the pessimistic side but I’m quite excited for the season now. Just can’t believe we’ve pulled this one off.

I like the announcement. Flips the expected script, the most important thing is the unified group Rice and Timber are joining and what they're going to do, not the individuals. Low key and pretty classy.

Actually liked West Ham in the past but with these antics they pulled they can get fucked. Praying they get relegated and battered all over town by Millwall fans next year

Good pressure though. As Arteta has said himself, we were a zombie football club when he arrived, the mood around the place has completely changed now. Everything is in place for the team to go and deliver now. And if there are players who can't cope with expectation... well, they shouldn't be representing the Arsenal.

For years we have said we should act like the big club that we are. We’ve been on the right path since 2021 and this summer it seems we are going to the next level.

We can’t have it both ways. Let’s embrace the pressure and expectation.
