Those fans don't want Arsenal to win it because we'd be doing it "the proper way" and it would lay bare just how inept their clubs have been in recent times.

Obviously Liverpool have also achieved the status they've had over the last 6 years in a similarly "organic" manner, but everyone's used to them being this good by now and so are just a bit numb to any success they achieve.

Claudius 2) The whole discussion is about fixtures. Very little about form. We have conceded 4 goals this year. Everybody else is 12 or above. Why isn’t that part of their assessment?

This is what I keep coming back to. And it isn't just the fact that we've conceded so few goals, it's that we've given up so few chances. We saw something amazing on Saturday night, which was David Raya needing to make a save for once. Teams can't get near enough to us to cause us problems. IF we can keep doing this to the line, we are going to win the league.

And as not unusual, most fans couldn't care less about Citeh, which is also true here. They don't treat Citeh as a real club. I see that all the time in every other forum like Chelsea, Liverpool, Spuds etc. It's like City doesn't affect anyone.

City winning all of their remaining league games, and us dropping points in maybe one or two games is what I would predict.

However, if Gabriel can continue his current form and bag 7 clean sheets on the trot, he will be POTS, PFA Player of the season, Ballon D'or finalist, and the best CB in our history. Guy has been phenomenal this season. Front foot and low block defending demigod.

Claudius so I find two things funny with this discussion
1) Manchester United fans saying “anyone but Arsenal” with respect to who they’d prefer to win. When the other options are their 2 most bitter rivals

A lot of the younger fans these days don't pay too much attention to things like local, historical or competitive rivalries, because who's most annoying on social media takes precedence.

Still, from what I've seen most 'neutrals' want us to win it.

Clrnc Interesting to see what do neutrals think of all of 3 of these teams.

What comes across is that there's people willing to back each of the three contenders. Our form's the best, City's experience is the best and Liverpool have the easiest fixtures by some lights.

Yeah we have to beat Spurs. But even if we win all three of our next three, we have to beat Spurs. There will be no "set cruise control" moment which makes a match by match approach a no-brainer.

Its like the probability models. Until you win they will never make you favourite to win.

Didn't know it was that long, but this is the reason I think it's good that we play at home first in the CL, even though historically playing at home last is better.

We've proven ourselves to be quite ridiculous at shutting teams out, but haven't had much practice in reclaiming a lead.

Yeah, I’d much rather protect a lead than defend it. Plus our away form is actually pretty great so I’m not sure how much of a disadvantage it will be.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Might be advantage to us according to the theories here. When Bayern lost their last 2 domestic match people said its advantage to them before they visit Emirates because the only had one thing to focus and is a wounded animal.

We’re two points behind City with a better GD and people are throwing in the towel again. Folks can’t wait to give up.

JazzG I really want to see us do that, especially as Arteta has never really nailed a run in with us. If we get to 89 points and we don't win the league, I think most of us would see that as a pretty positive season even if it ends up being potless. For me, anything above last season's points tally is positive - I'd be a little disappointed if we just scraped 80 odd.

True but the problem is we are a streaky side. Everything has to go in our favour and conditions have to be right for us to succeed. One set back and I feel hearts and minds will be gone.
