I don't really share the same concerns about his ability. I actually think his skills make him built for the role. ESR is perfectly suited too so surprised he doesn't get more mins there, maybe it's the defensive aspect where he's not trusted.
My only real concern about him is that he's playing the game at a completely different tempo to everyone else. He comes alive when he's off the ball, on it he slows down, not in a composed way, but in a way that telegraphs exactly he's going to do. I was hoping that was just down to his lack of synergy with the Chelsea players, but he's not meshing with our lot so far until he moves up top.
