Said this before but Xhakas positioning was world class, whatever position you put him in. In the 8 role he had a great ability to drift into pockets of space.

I think it’s why we’ve specifically gone for someone like Havertz to take on that role, his off the ball game is pretty strong.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Yep, body language was awful. He plays with zero personality, the opposite of what Rice showed against Crystal Palace. It seems like he doesn't really want to be out there. I still think he should be allowed more time to gel with the team but for now, Arteta needs show his ruthless side against his 65m man and take him out of the team.

I don't think it's hard to fathom TBH, I can't say it's surprising that his confidence would be down after last season with Chelsea and if he's in any way aware of social media he'll probably be acutely aware that he's starting from minus ten with half the fanbase too. He definitely looks like a player who is afraid to make mistakes and is playing within himself as a result. He also clearly needs time to build an understanding with the team as there were a couple of examples today where he was on a different wavelength to his teammates. A couple of simple exchanges with Martinelli went wayward and there were a few other examples where either he failed to read the intent of a teammate (e.g. Saka putting a lovely cross across the six yard in the first half) or his teammates failed to read his.

Given his poor spell at Chelsea, he should never have been given a starting berth, especially at the expense of proven players in Gabriel and Trossard. Poor management from Arteta.

People wrote it off at the time but his pre-season skills competition gaffe was indicative of something fundamentally wrong with him. Either, he couldn't give two shits about wanting to impress which doesn't say much about his mentality or he just wasn't any good at it which doesn't say much about his technique.
