The PL really is ridiculous when you think about it. Top talents of the past like Bailey, Tielemans (who we wishlisted for years), Lenglet, Diego Carlos can't even buy a start at Villa.

Then you have Pau Torres, Diaby, Kamara, Zaniolo, Paqueta, Alvarez, Kudus etc who were all linked with top clubs playing for these midtable teams. Money speaks

Villa now just 2 points off the top after being thrashed 5-1 by Newcastle not too long ago

Feel like the Premier League's money (not to mention the complicating factor of the SPL) are going to make Europe's traditional powerhouses irrelevant unless the sport is comprehensively re-regulated.

We shouldn't rule that re-regulation out as a possibility. People always complain football has been ruined by money but there are foundations in every league that aren't fully captured. Be interesting to see what happens with the "independent regulator" in the UK.

All I can say is Ange is a good manager. Proven time and time again. 0 adaptation period needed to get them playing his brand of football straight away, which is a huge change from Mourinho and Conte.

Not to mention their whole squad went through a huge upheaval. They will finish top 4, but won't be title challengers imo.

Ange is also managing Spurs when there is no pressure, wait till expectations rise, it’s a different story.

Arteta is very good at identifying talent, and a decent tactician. I just think he's too fixated on "positionalism" and structure on the pitch, and it makes us at times very predictable.
